The fact that you’re alluding to hating a singular person dye to a dictator is absurd.

I think you're confusing Koval standing by her beliefs with her hating Ana, but that doesn't necessarily have to be the case.

She could just think it'd be an insult to her family and friends fighting in the war (or those who have already passed) to play alongside a Russian while they are actively defending their home region from being bombed by said country.

But anyone criticizing the coach for this can frick off. I’m far from Mulkey’s biggest fan, but she has a job and it’s not reffing regional conflicts’s effects on players. She’s here to win. And I don’t care if the player is from Iran if she’s a better and wants to play here.

I would wholeheartedly agree if we were just one player away from being a true championship contender, but one our biggest weaknesses is our depth in the post. It's like Mulkey knew we were two points away from being fully built to win a title, she added 3 with Ana joining and lost two with Koval leaving. Even though you got a better player, you're still short one in the end.

Don't know much about Russia, uh? Putin was the head of Russia's KGB, comparable to Germany's Gestapo. In every way. At last count, as far as media here knows, Putin had 81 former oligarchs killed, from flying off the top of buildings to being poisoned. His Russia has zero rights of what we enjoy here. Using Russian athletes has nothing to do with citizens rights.

George Bush was CIA director so what's your point? Putin is beloved. He's a true leader. As for the rest of that garbage you're spotting off it's laughable.

Not sure which is dumber, calling a 20+ year old college coed a bigot for not wanting to play with a player from her country's blood enemy or dissing Coach Kim Mulkey. Who has won 5 national championships & is in the HOF.

These two just happen to be from neighboring countries at war. We don’t know if they are ideologically opposed or not and may never.

Uhhhhh, the war may be the loudest part right now, but the beef with these two goes a little further back......kinda like Serbs and Croatians.....but a little longer period of time.

The Russian girl didn’t kill your friends.

I’m sure there are millions of Russians who don’t want war the same way there are millions of Americans who are tired of war.

This is retarded. Is she saying the Russian player fought in the Russian army? "The english oppressed my Irish ancestors. I'm leaving the team because they signed a random english person who didn't do anything to anyone."

"Putin is beloved"???? Good Lord. And comparing the CIA with the KGB.....Good Lord even more But do educate us : give one example of the CIA arresting & imprisoning an American citizen. By law they are prohibited from taking any kind of acts on American soil. Not saying it is an angel but it is no way close to the KGB.

That doesn’t make the argument I responded to valid. You can’t boil 2 nationalities of multi-millions down to 2 people and make assumptions that they would automatically hate each other. Many Russians hate the war, especially younger generations. They aren’t allowed to freely express that if they live in Russia.

It’s a far safer assumption that a member of a party that made genocide a primary mission would have something against a Jewish person, and that the Jewish person would at least fear them, if not hate them back. Those aren’t remotely the same thing.

This isn't the thread for this shite but the CIA and other parts of the US gov have injured/killed Americans frequently in the past. They have experimented on Americans with nuclear exposure, biological trials etc. Hell, the CIA had plans to do terrorism attacks on the US to blame on Cuba to grow support for invasion. The plans made it to Kennedy's desk to be shot down.

That being said Putin is a POS and the Russian gov is shite but you know what? The Ukrainian gov is shite also. US and others installing puppets, corruption etc. Hell, Z is even refusing to hold elections even with his own officials supporting them.

This all makes a great point that is relevant to this thread though.

People are not the same as the gov where they were born. Anna isn't a Putin agent; she is a 17 yo wanting to play WBB. Kate is no martyr; she is using this to try to get an NCAA transfer approved and it will probably work because of how programmed people are to react these days.

did her beliefs and morals stop her from signing with a russian agent in january of 2025??? that she is still signed with today, mind you--unless her beliefs and morals will be leading her to sever ties with them too.

LOL

How is this even remotely equivalent to a 17yo girl that isn't involved in any way playing WBB?

Both players are in the same boat, same war, same death, same destruction.......they had a unique opportunity to play together and show the world they are more alike than different, and peace is possible regardless.
Kate had that chance to put a peace stake in the ground.... She chose to bolt before even trying to know this other girl....The war is not in Baton Rouge. She decided to let it be fought here as well. I wish her well.
