Based on #2 and 5b., I’d think it was goal tending... but I know jack shite about basketball.

The ball has to be clear of the imaginary cylinder when touched. This clearly shows that the ball is not clear of the imaginary cylinder when bigby touches it.

The ball was within the cylinder and should have been offensive goal tending. It was not called and therefore non reviewable. That said, GREAT WIN FOR THE TIGERS

It was for sure a goal tend, half the ball was within the cylinder.
Tough call from that floor shot at half court tho. Looked clean there

Read the rules people holy shite if any part of the ball is over the cylinder it’s a goaltend. Yes, it was coming off, but the ball was over the cylinder. They called an offensive goaltend that was less egregious earlier in the game even guys

Ball was definitely touching part of the cylinder when it was touched. So I guess goaltending? Oh well. Like others said. Refs blew two calls earlier that would have essentially given us the game.

Have people watched college basketball before? That’s called a goaltend 99/100 times. Not trying to diminish the win because we were the better team and 100% deserved it but it’s ok to admit a call went your way

UK had goaltending on Mays layup anyways.

Yeah the ball was bouncing up and away fron the basket

So you are saying that no part of the ball was over the cylinder/rim? Replay clearly showed it was. The ball doesn’t have to be on the rim just above it for it to be goaltending.
However, I’ll take the W no matter what because Kentucky has goaltending 1st

Art. 2. Basket interference
a Basket interference occurs when a player:
1 Touches the ball or any part of the basket while the ball is on or within the basket;
2 Touches the ball while any part of it is within the cylinder that has the ring as its lower base;
3 Reaches through the basket from below and touches the ball before it enters the cylinder;
4 Pulls down a movable ring so that it contacts the ball before the ring returns to its original position, and
5 Causes the basket or backboard to vibrate when the ball is on or within the basket or the backboard and/or is on or in the cylinder
b The cylinder is the imaginary geometric figure that has the ring as its base and is formed by the upward extension of that ring
c The ball shall be considered to be within the basket when any part of the ball is below the cylinder and the level of the ring
d A player may have a hand legally in contact with the ball, when this contact continues after the ball enters the cylinder or when, during such action, the player touches or grabs the basket

there’s an imaginary cylinder coming up from the rim. If the ball is in that you can’t touch
That's international rules.

Welp, sure sucks to be on the wrong side of a call don’t it!!!
Posted on 2/12/19 at 8:20 pm to Sheepdog1833
It may or may not have been interference but it wasn't goaltending.
Posted on 2/12/19 at 8:20 pm to lsu2006
Ball was clearly coming off the cylinder. Half the ball was outside of the cylinder and it was coming out.
Posted on 2/12/19 at 8:21 pm to Sheepdog1833
The goaltending was on UK tbh.

I love how every single person that is so sure LSU got a gift, calls it goal tending. Even though we are only discussing basket interference here.

bad call or not, we still won this game.
And unlike the saints Kentucky still could have lost in overtime, it's not like they were up when the missed this call, or in the saints case easy field goal to go to the Superbowl.
and unlike the saints call this is a close call, a good ref may see it but at that speed can be hard to make an exact call like that.
