It's not like Joe called Wade up to discuss him showing up late to work and Will ignored him.

The guy is under federal investigation (which is a joke). Like others have said, Joe could be subpoenaed and asked what the conversation was about. If you don't get why Will would not engage in that conversation, then don't ever go to trial on my side.

Something is not right here. Why would Will Wade's attorney advise him not to speak with F King and Alleva unless he thought F King and Alleva did not have Wade's best interests in mind? Love the sentiment from Mallett and the BOS by extension, but Alleva and F King royally fricked up by suspending Wade when they should've just kept they're traps shut.

Because it now means Wade and LSU's interests have diverged. It looks like Wade is in fact guilty and realizes Alleva and F. King are no longer in his corner as they have LSU's interests to protect. Wade is now in survival mode.

Do you personally know Mallett? Kind of surprised he would pass on priveleged info like this on a random call from a concerned fan.

If Alleva or FKA emailed this to the BoS members...it became public record.

Also, the Board reports to no one (except the Governor, I suppose). Any respectable member of this board should be forthcoming with a constituent.

no, he's worried about recouping the entirety of his contract. He gets fired for cause, he gets nothing and there likely won't be many people looking to hire him.

Still disagree.

What did Alleva expect Wade to do? If he walks in there and says he paid the players, then Alleva can still fire his arse and do so without paying him the buyout. Of course Wade is going to say no. Alleva caved to the national pressure. He should have waited it out until the end of the season when the NCAA comes knocking.

As I understand it, he's not. He's a witness but not under investigation himself. I could be misunderstanding.

He could be protecting LSU by not opening them up to further questioning from Fed's/NCAA

Maybe, but that kind of restrictive communication will still get him fired.

With the little we know from this update I would have to agree.

It wouldn’t be a very long toss. WW already threw himself under the buss with the “offer” to Smart’s parent and the upcoming suggestion of an “offer” more than a rookie contract.

Get Alleva out of here so Wade can stay after no wrongdoing is proven. If there was evidence, Wade would be gone.

Why would his attorneys tell him not to speak to the ad?

Because Joe Alleva is a proven pos who drives the bus over his coaches and players without hesitation.

Joe must fricking go

I mean Wade was almost assuredly guilty the whole time. But plenty of parties have been almost assuredly guilty based on media reports yet nothing ever happened with the NCAA.

What happened is Wade and his team, correctly I think, guessed that Alleva and the administration were strongly considering using him as a scapegoat to try and deal with this issue, instead of buttoning the hatches and riding it out.

So now, yes, the interests of the two have diverged.

Seems like Wade is willing to give up his job to cover his own arse and possible contract buyout.

And now he's not cooperating with Alleva and King. Does not look good.

Thank you for the info.

I had just sent emails to Alexander and Alleva telling them this suspension was at the worst possible time for our team and fans, and that unless they had information that Coach Wade was now under FBI investtion or a direct investigation from the NCAA, there was no reason to respond at this time, as a result of media pressure.
I urged them to wait until our postseason was finished, or tell the public if there was more information known to them regarding FBI or NCAA investigations.

Yep, WW and his attorneys are well aware that Alleva's entire career is a comedy of missteps and bad decisions. Don't talk to him, he will screw you out of either incompetence or to save face.
