What happened is Wade and his team, correctly I think, guessed that Alleva and the administration were strongly considering using him as a scapegoat to try and deal with this issue, instead of buttoning the hatches and riding it out.

So now, yes, the interests of the two have diverged.

He is not under federal investigation.

And in no way does it make sense to completely blow off your boss when his requests a meeting when a report like this comes out. No reason at all. It’s just a discussion.

You just blinded by what makes sense bc it’s LSU. Any other scenario other than LSU and you would agree.

If he's a witness, wouldn't that constitute "investigation"?

I don't know, whatever the frick you want to call it, Wade is in full on CYA mode and I agree with him and understand why he would be.

Why would his attorneys tell him not to speak to the ad?

Wade's about to testify in a Federal Court proceeding, and I 'm assuming that either Wade talking to the AD would invite a subpoena to Alleva, or Wade's Attorney's dont trust LSU to keep their mouths shut. Either way it just opens up Wade to an unnecessary line of questioning from Dawkins legal team.

Alleva and F. King are no longer in his corner as they have LSU's interests to protect.

Well that's fricking terrifying for LSU.

To prevent him to be fired for cause.

If I'm a witness, I'm PART of an investigation BUT it doesn't mean that ** I ** am being investigated for something.

Seems like Wade is willing to give up his job to cover his own arse and possible contract buyout.

What's the alternative? It's clear that Alleva's not in this fight with him. It wouldn't have gotten to this point if he were.

Yup, but it would be worse if they were complicit and tried to help Wade cover it up. So I guess there's that.

Both parties made the right decision.

With the little we know from this update I would have to agree.

Serious question - what does the suspension solve for Alleva or the BOS?

All he has to do is tell Joe, FKing and the court the same thing and stick with it: that the “offer” was only comprised of permissible things like scholarship and playing time.

If everything is true and he knows he left a trail, can you blame him?

Alleva and F King wanted Wade to disclose information that’s going to be used for a trial? Pretty sure that’s not allowed, which is why his attorneys said he can’t talk to them

You're right, no arguments there.

Thanks for making my point. We're arguing semantics now. Again, whatever the hell you want to call it, this whole thing stinks.

Not a good sign for LSU where a football coach throws a player under the bus and the now the administration throws a great coach under the bus.

He was subpoenaed. That doesn't mean he is going to be called as a witness.
