Why do people throw their sources under the bus?
That dude is not gonna be happy with you.

I’m sure it’s what Dellenger talked about in the article. Wade is owed 9 million dollars on his contract if he’s fired without cause.
He’s not owed shite if he’s fired for committing an NCAA violation or for not disclosing a potential one if asked about it. He and his people are scrambling just like everyone is.
He and his people probably want the weekend to let the dust settle, gather more info, and strategize before approaching the administration.

While not directly related to this thread, I heard on a national show yesterday that two of the schools recently investigated for basketball recruiting violations fully cooperated and were given no leniency by the NCAA. On the other hand, North Carolina did not cooperate (lawyered up?) and were able to avoid sanctions.
Basically the point was that member universities should not cooperate in any way based on the precedent that the NCAA set. Sounds like Wade is already thinking this way.

I'm OK if that's it. But that decision forces Alleva's hand. I can't fault a reaction to telling your boss to frick off. Even if he deserves it.

If this is true, I fully support the decision to suspend. Regardless of the situation, if you ignore your boss in a time like this, you have no business in the organization.

Something is not right here. Why would Will Wade's attorney advise him not to speak with F King and Alleva unless he thought F King and Alleva did not have Wade's best interests in mind? Love the sentiment from Mallett and the BOS by extension, but Alleva and F King royally fricked up by suspending Wade when they should've just kept they're traps shut.

If true, this changed things

When it comes to something as serious as this, you need an attorney present. LSU does not give a rats arse about Wade as an employee and what he says on record LSU will use against him to clear their own name with the SEC/NCAA/FBI.

I’m wondering where the money came from. Is the administration gonna pretend Wade was paying out of his pocket?

Or, anything you say can or will be used against you in a court of law. And he is set to testify in a federal case, so it's smart for him not to say anything to anyone that could complicate things even more.

Do you personally know Mallett? Kind of surprised he would pass on priveleged info like this on a random call from a concerned fan.

Wade is handling this as poorly as anyone, it seems. Goddamn this sucks.
Counterpoint:
He could be protecting LSU by not opening them up to further questioning from Fed's/NCAA

No. Alleva should have been on this in October. You don’t go into all this right now. Evaluate at the end of the season. This screams setting wade up...........

Remember, neither Wade nor LSU have a reduced buyout in his contract. If LSU fires Wade, they owe him the rest of his contract, unless they fire him for cause.
I wondered about this but didn't want to ask.

You idiots can't read.
Will Wade was absolutely right in this situation. IDGAF if Joe is his boss or not, why would you put yourself in a position to possibly incriminate yourself? Let the lawyers handle that shite. Alleva is butthurt he didn't get his way so he suspended him.
This makes me feel a little bit better though, I think we see Wade again soon.
