The same themes keep coming out with those wanting to see nuss because “he goes through progressions and processes better”. What evidence is there that this is the case? It certainly wasn’t from the Arkansas game last year.

All we know about the guy so far is he is a gunslinger prone to turnovers. Not sure how that equals “pre-snap reads, process better, goes through progressions, high iq passer”.

Just want to point out everyone saying Daniels can’t throw, just athlete playing qb, only wants to tuck and run, well the guy threw for nearly 3,000 yards as a freshman. Only had two int’s.

That tells me he is very capable of passing the ball, and he takes care of the ball. He would probably rather run and gain 10 yards than throw into a tight window risk turnover. But he isn’t just a runner.

Rewatch the game. Try it in sky cast and you’ll see great qb play. You can see the entire field just like the qb. Maybe then you anti Daniels guys would stfu

Daniels is 23rd in QBR...not bad for first game and not playing a cupcake. He wasn't the problem Sunday.

When did Kelly say this?

I know people on the rant talked about this, but I never heard Kelly say anything along these lines. If he did, I missed it, which is definitely possible.

He said it to the sideline reporter right after the team ran onto the field. It was weird because he wasn't even asked about playing both.

Ummmm, yeah, you see there are these guys at LSU, a head coach, an OC and numerous assistants that have a completely better opinion on this, you know, due to actually seeing it for at least a month. The FSU game, situationally, was the wrong game to bring him in to see "what he can do."

But hey, you do you.

agreed. It’s the same idiots that refuse to give Daniels any credit. “Oh he went 99 yards bc of prevent” shite like that.

Majority of these people who say this, are posters like Damone or other people obsessed with race. They need racism in order for their lives to have purpose.

Daniels looked like a very good passer. The only throw he struggled with consistently were short passes into the flats. They lacked touch and were mostly inaccurate. Might have been adrenaline or it might just be a throw he routinely struggles with. Either way, I thought he looked good on pretty much every other throw.

He's definitely not just a runner playing QB.

You have to admit that daniels skill set is different from all our other qb's and kelly likes that skill set.

Then Kelly needs Denbrock to tailor the offense to highlight Daniels's skillset instead of trying to make him into a prostyle pocket passer. More read options, sprint outs, designed QB runs, etc. Dude is obviously not built to sit back and sling it around the field, and he's only being hamstrung by being forced to do so.

When do you think he should have been pulled?

The way Kelly was saying that both QBs were likely to play, I thought that might mean a couple of scripted series with Nuss at some point. I don't think it has anything to do with "pulling" Daniels, just seeing how they each perform

He probably did intend to play both, but the game never got there.

Fla State jumped ahead of LSU, stayed 1 score ahead. Defense never never never stopped them.

We never got a spot in the game where it was 'ok, let's run the backup QB this series and see what we have'.

If he was off, you jump Kelly for basically wasting a drive, when we could have used that drive to keep pace or catch up.

If we got up a score, or if our defense was stoning Fla State, then you have the chance to experiment. Or even, if we fall behind a few scores and it doesn't matter as much what we do.
But we stayed right in that position where you NEED to keep up, or it could get away.

The only time it got anywhere close to that, like somebody said, was down 2 scores in the 4th, you could have said frick it, we're going to lose anyway, let's see Nuss give it a shot.
But Daniels ironically produced exactly what you want your starting QB to do- he brought the team back. Kick the XP and it's overtime.
If we make it to OT (and maybe win), are you still saying on Monday that you wanted them to put Nuss in off the bench for that stretch?

I get the feeling both will get plenty of playing time, so I'm not going to trash either.

I have concerns, but I think both are good enough to play.

He didn’t pull Daniels because we drove the field 2/3 drives to start the game (4th drive of the half we had a minute ten and ran out of time.

Then we drove 3/4 drives to end the game.

Especially considering the game plan was for Daniel’s to run a lot, it was working pretty well.

We shot ourselves in the foot a LOT.

We got a look at him in the Arkansas game !!

I agree that there is zero evidence he would have fared better than Daniels, but this comment isn't fair to Nuss. I'm not sure how you can judge him on his only start as a true freshman with a total shite show of a team and coaching staff.

For me, both QBs came into the season with a pretty clean slate. I didn't have an opinion at all on Daniels from ASU and assumed Nuss had developed considerably since the Arkansas game.

The coaches picked Daniels and I didn't see anything on Sunday night that made me think we can't win with him. I thought he played pretty well and graded his performance as a solid B. There were definitely things he needs to improve on, but at no point in the game did I ever think he was holding the offense back.

I am amazed that people think a qb can make reads when he has to run for his life. Also had no running game, outside of him, to slow down the dline
