This is an easy take. I mean from a pessimistic view you are looking at a team that has been below 0.500 in the past two years. From a semi optimistic perspective I see us as a 8-4/9-3 team. I have a hard time pegging the Florida or TN game as losses because we had similar records last year, and I don’t believe they will be significantly better. I don’t understand how Fla is ranked ahead of us in anything, but whatever. We have an extremely talented defensive line and WR room. Those two position groups can win us 6-7 games alone. House has said he thinks the defensive backfield is not as much of an issue as many think. I’ll take his word for it over an analyst. If you get above avg qb play, and our line isn’t a total cluster there is no reason we shouldn’t win 8 or more.

I like his show, but he picked us to finish in the middle of the SEC in 2019.

They had 30-40 players for the Texas bowl. This is a 3-4 year rebuild just to get bodies. This is what happens when you let O oversee roster management for 5 years.

It's not like we're in Kelly's 4th season, 4-5 losses are prob more realistic than 2-3 .. But I would just want to be extremely competitive in year 1.

What does weight have to do with coverage ability? He also got destroyed by Goodwin in scrimmage.
Glued to Boutte in practice doesn't = SEC CB. It's practice. Maybe that's why BK keeps making comments about Boutte trying to drive him more. I'm sure the guy plays hard and puts his heart into everything but let's be real here. If he was so good at Mcneese he would've had all kinds of accolades coming out of there and he probably would've ended up with lots of bigger schools wanting him in the portal to recruit him. If they did find a diamond in the rough kudos to the scouting department.

Hopefully our fans have some perspective and relax if Pate’s prediction comes to fruition. Kelly lost 5 games year 1 at Notre Dame (Saban lost 4 yr 1 at lsu and 6 yr 1 at Bama) but had them playing for the title by year 3. The man is a winner who will succeed here. Just need to be a little patient.

Nothing is wrong, the program is just in major rebuild mode. If the last 2 years havent taught you anything, it's the floor really isnt 7-5 here, a lot of things can happen and we can absolutely be worse than 7-5.
The goal of hiring BK is to get better and get back to winning national titles. That doesnt happen in less than 1 year here. Would 7-5 suck? Sure, but year 1 was never likely going to be pretty here. It's about building a program back to former glory and it usually takes time.
Really hope people arent setting themselves up for "we better go at least 9-3 or BK sucks" after year 1. Not saying we cant or wont go 9-3 or better, but that should NOT be the expectation this year.
