Josh Gray starts for South Carolina, as Efton Reid remains an afterthought for Gonzaga.

Should Gray have played much more last year and is Gray actually a better player?

Admittedly, I don’t understand how basketball recruiting rankings work compared to sports like football, but Efton looked awful. Maybe he was a 5* because of his height and frame but he was almost as bad as Tuba back in the day at actually playing the game

Gonzaga and South Carolina are two completely different situations.

Oh lord. Reid was 1000 times better than Tuba. We just expected way more out of Efton then we did with Tuba.

People don't realize Reid didn't start playing Basketball til high school. He was a a 5 star due to his size and raw talent. Maybe he will live up to his potential. Maybe not. Why people get so triggered by him and take glee in his lack of perceived success is sad.

This is the Rant and LSU “fans” love to dog their own players and teams.

Gray was on the roster 2 years ago

You could do a nice S thread with the random bigs that came through the program while tPear was here

Whoa* going to stop you there. Don’t you insult the tuba like that. He was way better than Reid.

That Ludwig/Tuba post duo was a thing of l legend

Most bigs in basketball take much longer to develop than guards. Recruiting and ranking them often times comes down to size and ceiling. More often than not your big guys need a few years in college to develop their game. Plus many of them play against much smaller kids on regular basis in high school which hurts their development because they excel with size alone and it’s a different story when u get to college playing against people your own size and older often times. Similar to OL. Most take a couple years to gain strength and technique to compete at this level.
