The play calling is terrible but it’s more than that. They miss blocks, Nuss throws a stupid pass, lack of physicality, offense is designed for a running QB…it all points to the OC and BK. Somebody has to set expectations on that side of the ball.

He can still recover. Just needs the next game to be that one game where everything is clicking and in rhythm.

Except the only things that worked great in that game have been figured out. You can only do so many bubble screens to WR/TE back to back. It only took teams one week to figure out Sloan’s offense.

Think about that.

Yep.

Does everyone now see why we went so hard on Underwood???

I mean everyone sees it right? He wasn’t coming to sit, he was coming to be the QB at LSU this year.

rather than lining up and hitting the D in the mouth while they’re on their heels, he dials up a quick throw to the perimeter for a loss

This pissed me off so much. Absolutely no feel for the game.

Sloan is not good but the passing failures seem more on Nuss to me

The dude has looked completely fricking rattled 90% of the time this season

Nuss is a gunslinger that has been told not to shoot. He is a high risk, high reward player that has been turned into a no risk, little reward player.

Let him play his style and live with the results. We now have a D that can keep us in games.

Bill Walsh couldn't fix Nuss's flaws. However Nuss could have a record-setting passing game and beat any team.

where.

He needs to relax & stop pressing for the big play on every pass play. Take what the defense gives him. Hit the big play downfield when it's available.

He’s not a good deep ball thrower. Maybe this is simple and they’re doing what fits Nuss best.

Better watch out. LSBoosie will be here shortly to tell you that you are wrong. Seriously though, Nuss has a history of both underthrowing & overthrowing deep balls. At times he struggles finding the sweet spot. I thought after how he finished last season that he figured it out. Maybe big Nuss needs to pull out his belt.

Im talking more about the run game adjustments in the second half. Lot of motion to set up the counter, duo etc

Tulane has skunked two Power 4 teams.

Anyway, The talent they play is always relative to the players they recruit. Just like LSU

Like the INT he threw and couldn't bother to respond to the HC on the sidelines?

Bottom line is that Sloan is not close to being an elite OC. Avg. at best. Got lots of credit for JD5 senior season which got him bumped up but it was a dumb decision for BK to do that. Need someone elite in that job.

The talent we have can make a mediocre coordinator look good, and a good coordinator look great. Has our offense looked good for any extended period of time, much less great?!

Mid season shake up. Fire bk promote Blake baker and hire Tulane’s OC.

(I’m kidding)

Let’s add Joey Aguilar. This was his third GAME at UTK and he balled out against Georgia. Dude just got there from App State and he’s outplaying Nuss who’s been here multiple years. It’s disappointing and I’m a Nuss guy, maybe he’s injured but it doesn’t look good from any aspect

With that said, i think kelly lacks the killer instinct to want to do it, sadly.

Kelly took over defensive playcalling in 2023 by the TAMU game IIRC.

Kelly knows this is his best shot for a NC. He wont let that slip away.
