Typical LSU "fans", have a bad year and they want you to continue to fail and get fired.

It’s not roster depletion from a championship year. He honestly thought he adequately rebuilt, and he is on record as believing such. Maybe not for a championship run, but certainly not what this season gave us.

without injuries and with pitchers not regressing were still playing now. it wasnt as far off as people are saying

We were excited because Yorke was a first baseman and we needed a first baseman and there were not any available.

Simpson was also a big letdown.

Carraway, Yorke, and Dardar were all disappointments to some degree.

In hindsight, we would've been better off without a single import.

Dardar actually made some contributions. The rest were empty holes in the lineup.

Only really matters when losing. Winning covers bad chemistry up really well.

just the injuries. The pitchers regressing has a direct relationship to guys having to pitch in spots they wouldn't have without injuries. I'm not even sure I'd even call it regressing. I'd call it failing to step up and over achieve.

What a miserable bunch. Should no one be excited for anything because of a rough year?

There is not holding on to a rough year forever.

Then there’s the folks who denied the problems with Les Miles approach year after year, accepted the same excuses over and over again. And did the same for Kelly.

JJ gets a lot more latitude because of his titles. But the one question no one wants to address, even when they bring it up as a deflection of accountability:

Why did assessment of the transfer portal fail so badly this year? This was said to be a strong team and the reason why it wasn’t isn’t due to one, two, or even three misestimates.

The entire team was fricked.

This was one of the worst teams LSU fielded in 30 years.

So no, I’m not going to drink the kool aid just because JJ acknowledged recruiting and scouting was the issue, with zero discussion as how things are different. Also with the same staff responsible for those roles in place.

Dardar gets loops in with the other 3 but he actually was solid imo

And he’s a Louisiana guy so I don’t regret going after him one bit

To be honest, I wish we went after more Louisiana guys

Luke hill ss from Baton Rouge was a miss a few years ago imo

Define team chemistry and ways in which it was not demonstrated this year.

I’m curious because people love to blame this nebulous concept of “chemistry” as a catch-all excuse for poor play. Provide evidence or examples of how this chemistry was lacking and how it contributed to losses

10 downvotes yet no replies… interesting

Personally I don’t think Jay is hitting the portal as hard this year. He’s being very selective and focused on getting this HS kids to campus. Spend the $ on the 4 year guys. Find a diamond in JUCO ball here and there and a portal guy but finding the 4 year guy is still the way to win.

While I agree, I don't think he is someone we should have really counted on in hindsight. I'm sure I was pumping him up, but the positionless power bat who K'd twice as much as he walked in the Big South and struggled against all the top teams he played was always going to have a lower chance of success.

We haven't taken many of those guys to be counted on. I doubt Jay really ever does again.

I mean… yeah. Either many of those guys were overrated by recruiting experts, or our coaching staff is so bad that they somehow made all of those guys worse. I’d prefer to think that it’s the former.

Same coaching staff with a national championship.
