He wasn’t that guy yet, and the QB in front of him was no slouch either. Joe had to learn through adversity.

It was the Cincy factor, no one expected any QB could do that in Cincy. Joe Burrow believed it then did it! Greatest sports story ever told.

That Rich Eilsen video at 2:44 "Get the gat, get the gat, get the gat..."

Just compare Burrow's vs. Haskins's stats in the spring game before he transferred. Not close!

The starter left so both were the back up. Actually Burrow was #2 before he go hurt so this narrative doesn’t work at all.

How about their stats in 2018? Funny thing about 20/20 hindsight

But I promise you there is not a guy on the Bengals team that doesn’t 100% believe they have the best QB and leader going into today’s game.
Also a great point.

"Dual threat" Quarterback

Also aware that Dwayne Haskins is a pocket passer

You’re an Auburn fan. Why do you keep posting about LSU football?

This was a big part of it at Ohio State. Urban Meyer was never sold on Burrow as a recruit, and really Burrow only finally got the offer there because their OC Tom Herman pushed really hard to get Urban to bring the kid in. Meyer also famously said that Burrow "threw like a girl". It would have required Urban Meyer to swallow his ego and admit he might have been wrong if he actually put Burrow at QB1. Wasn't going to happen. Ever.
Burrow performed well enough as a backup and was on track to be the starter but then hurt his hand which gave Meyer all the window he needed to cement Haskins as QB1 and prove he had been right all along. Burrow, wanting a chance to start, transferred to LSU and proved to Meyer and everyone else that he was the real alpha.

I am 62 years old. Never in my life have I ever purchased a player memento to hang on a wall in my home.
Then Burrow comes along. Yep, I have the jersey framed and on the wall. He is the best I have ever seen. This guy is only going to get better.
How Urban Meyer missed this guy is something I will not ever understand. Unless it was affirmative action for the OSU QB.... but thank the Lord he did.

Piss poor coaches.

I told LSU people when Burrow transferred that he is Joe Montana.
They of course scoffed.

Matured at LSU. After bowl vs Central Florida, he was a different cat.

Best I've ever seen? Nope. Marino.

If you believe you can or believe you can't, you are right. Geaux Joe

My money is on Joe and the Bengals. He is a beast and deadly accurate and will light it up like it would be an LSU vs Georgia championship game and Matthew from Georgia will follow the past of choking in the Championship game.
Bengals -42
Rams - 31

It’s Cincinnati, no QB wins there.
