There are no downsides... O gets the time he needs to prove himself an NC caliber coach. If not, no buyout Jimbo is breathing down his neck.

Let’s see if Jimbo can win 10 at A&M, first.

Nah. He’s not changing and he’s about to get rocked this year with the amount of players Aggy lost. The window for him is 2-3 years. No thanks.

I disagree on your first point, and the second remains to be seen. You know there’s a third option if O doesn’t win any hardware. That’s to go get another elite coach.

I trust Woodward completely if it came to that.

Except for his last year at FSU.....and the fact that LSUs current coach is winning more games.....

Jimbo took the money, it took that kind of $$$ to get him to Aggie Land. If he’s in the running for HC after Os time is done, that means Aggie has been relevant in football....I see 8 wins as their ceiling the next 2 years.

I’ll pass on Jimbo

same here. I don't get all the fuss about him. At the time I wanted Herman (before I was aware of his kissie face issue), Mullen (which was very unpopular at the time) or Fleck, but never was on the Jimbo bandwagon. Looking back on it I'm very happy that none of that worked out and we lucked into Orgeron.

But frick no on Jimbo. If things don't work out in the long run with Orgeron then their are better options than Jimbo.

Would take Mullen from that list, hands down.

Jimbo left FSU in a hole that may take them a decade to climb out of.

Jimbo could barely stay above water in a two team conference.

Jimbo won his one natty with an entire roster and staff recruited and assembled by Bowden, and wasn't able to distinguish between his arse and a hole in the ground once the majority of those players, including a Heisman winning quarterback, moved on.

If you look at the last few years, his trajectory is downward. The only thing that saved him from an embarrassment of a firing at FSU, was that the aTm brass was willing to throw upwards of 100 million at him, no strings attached.

I've said it since Miles was fired and I'll stand by it now... he's a weird dude but I'd take Herman over Fisher all day every day, should things go south with Coach O.

The stupid extension that Alleva gave O pretty much guarantees this won’t happen... at least for a little while.

"Jimbo went on to coach at FSU for 8 years accumulating an 83–23 record, a 2013 BCS national championship, 3 ACC conference championships, 4 AP Poll top 10 finishes, and 4 bowl game victories. His 0.783 winning percentage is the highest in FSU history among former head coaches."
