This pisses me off and it's sad because Jayden and Burrow are 2 of my most favorite LSU players ever. And I feel like Burrow would never do something like this.

This is acceptable, but I still don't like the idea of retiring numbers as some type of honor!
I think it's more honorable for a future tiger great to say, "I'd like to go to LSU and wear #9 because my favorite player is Joe Burrow." I think all players should WANT their numbers used as recruiting and marketing for themselves, for LSU and for future players looking at LSU. It shows an active level of connection to the team and school that goes beyond a number taken out of circulation. If a future great player wearing #9 makes a great play, it would give me positive vibes not bad ones.

Imagine the can of worms this would open if there can be no mention of the number 5 for LSU.....or any other program for that matter. Just think, your offense runs the ball on first and your RB gets half way to the first down marker, Does the PA announcer for LSU have to say LSU has the ball with second and ........., we can't say??? After all, we can't mention 5.

He has done a great job throwing away all positive goodwill he earned since his rookie year. People need to wake up to the realities of social media, the second you make a disagreement public and attach your name to it, suddenly this is what people remember you for.
This should’ve been handled behind closed doors or better yet not at all. He was a transfer FFS. Yeah he won Heisman but there are far greater LSU players without their numbers retired.
