This isn't surprising to me at all.
He comes across as a complete weirdo these days with all the stuff with his mother. It is really bizarre for a grown man to act like he does
I care more about a current player than a past player that lost 8 games number
What about the grown men in this thread melting like a snowman in July about this?

Can’t wait to hear Ryan Clark… defend LSU or that kid Jayden?

#5 should be retired
But…it’s not.
LSU could give it to the third string punter and JD5 would still sound like a giant douche complaining about it.

What's lost in the debate is that he had an NIL Agreement with LSU for 180 days after he left. He didn’t have to agree to that, but he did. Without further information, it could have been part of the agreement, implied or not, regarding use of his Jersey.
Let's not pretend that LSU didn't benefit from that agreement, so it wasn't one-sided.
If that is the case, LSU may not have upheld that part of the agreement. He has not asked for anything except for LSU to cease and desist from the Agreement he signed.
I've heard plenty say kids should be held accountable to the NIL deals they sign when transferring, etc. But now, some have a problem with Jayden trying to enforce his NIL agreement?
Some say it looks bad when a school sues a kid over NIL. Now it looks bad when a player sues a school over an NIL agreement?
So there should be no agreement because no one should ever try to enforce it?
It's unfortunate that it came to this for everyone involved. I hope it gets resolved without any further issues.

"Before the rumor mill runs wild, or things get taken out of context, hoping to provide some clarity- The Daniels’ camp understands that the No. 5 jersey is not retired at LSU, nor have they ever asked for it to be. The cease-and-desist is not about the number itself or about DJ Pickett. It is about respect—and the process by which that number was ultimately given out.
For those attempting to make this about Jayden and Joe Burrow, that narrative is simply not accurate. This is about respecting and honoring a young man who brought the program its third Heisman Trophy and represented LSU with distinction.
I’ve spoken with people on both sides about this situation, & I’ll add this. I love this young man, and I love my school. My hope is that this situation can be resolved in a respectful manner that honors everyone involved and, most importantly, recognizes what Jayden Daniels accomplished for LSU.
Now, Jayden wants to focus on the excitement around the team, how well camp is going & winning games for the Commanders. "

The problem with Ryan Clark's offering is that Jayden Daniels himself refused a request to allow DJ to wear the number five jersey. JD's camp says he feels disrespected by LSU allowing another player to wear the number five jersey.
That is supreme arrogance and I find arrogance disgusting.
F*CK Jayden Daniels and frick any LSU athlete who thinks they're so important that no one should be able to wear whatever number they wore while at LSU.
Grow up and have confidence that you will be remembered as one of the greatest athletes in program history.

Never a dull moment following this program

Jayden's mom all but got Herman Edwards fired and ASU put on probation for her illegal recruiting before NIL
Thankfully she is out of the LSU program's business
Even Gordon McKernan made a comment about her in that LSU NIL series

There is a time and place for the retirement of Jayden’s jersey. That’s not something that happens on announcement as Heisman. My guess is that this will be accomplished one day down the road assuming his suit resolves itself in a good way. Honestly, the lawsuit is a bad look for Jayden.

Anyone have this idiots original tweet. He's the first one I thought about when I heard this. Sounds like something he would stir up like he did vnot so long ago.

So LSU, a university that does not retire jersey numbers outside of Billy Cannon’s No. 20 somehow agreed in a 180-day NIL contract to effectively retire Jayden Daniels’ No. 5 forever, without actually retiring it?
And we’re supposed to assume that was “implied” in an agreement that expired years ago?
That’s a pretty big leap
