All he’s saying is Larson should be playing 1B and Mikey Ryan should be playing 2B on this team.

He feels like players he developed are producing for other teams and players someone else developed aren’t producing for him.

You forgot about Costello. He should be at dh or first base. He was probably the biggest loss.

Well most of the top guys were already committed when the season ended so not sure who we were supposed to get.

He said that people LEFT that were developed or developing. He also didn’t say why but we know to some extent. He also said that the young players playing now is a positive moving forward.
The WHOLE interview is the key.
He is taking the blame for the shite play like he is supposed to.

The solution is simple but this board won’t accept it.

Recruit and develop.

The way to get better at baseball is to play baseball. This season is just about lost.. let’s start playing more young kids and get them experience. Especially during the remaining midweeks.

Players like Milam. Stanny, Brown, and Curiel should not play another midweek inning the rest of the way.

The portal should be cut no more than a couple of depth pieces. Early this season we had 3/4 of infielders from the portal, that’s insane.

Jay thought he could plug and play on a large scale. Didn’t work. I think he understands.

He’s saying a lot more than that.

He’s saying the approach is wrong.

Listening to the interview, it sounded like he's saying they chased power hitters in the portal to replace Bear and Frey's offensive production and ended up with duds defensively.

Going forward, he wants to focus more on better, all around players in the portal and let the power hitters develop from within the program.

When it comes to people, there is no sure thing. Great interviews, credentials and references can turn into slackers in a few weeks.

He can regret players leaving all he wants. This team hasn’t won a game without Yorke yet he stays on the bench. So…..when does Jay stop mismanaging? I guess he is waiting for next season to make the right decisions.
