It’s hard to win in Omaha. Not many teams have done it. This year just sucks bc the players haven’t gelled. No timely hitting, no leadership or fire, only 2 pitchers have stepped up.

At some point it’s on the players to produce.

who gives a shite what he did 10 years ago at another school

2024 LSU is soft, can't/won't compete and appears to have a bunch of players who were misevaluated.

he's won everywhere he's been. won coach of the year in two different conferences prior. was one cancelled away from potentially winning the toughest conference in america last season.

he's been to omaha 3 times in the past decade. played in the championship game against coastal while at arizona. he won a championship last season in only his 2nd season at LSU. and that was in a series against florida without skenes. he had a veteran team, but they don't win it all without the guys he also brought in. riley cooper could have easily been mvp of the cws.

his overall coaching record is around 433–223.

but yes he sucks. lsu fans can't handle one down season after one of their greatest seasons. there were fans bitching about him last season too. i can't stand it. it's ridiculous. complain about him next season if it happens again, but i doubt that will be necessary.

I don't think he sucks, but if you take away Skenes or pitching staff has been sub par. Why cant we get better pitching.

Nobody turns on a coach immediately after a national championship like LSU fans.

Thank God he won a NC, or else he’d be on a proverbial hot seat in folks’ eyes. He’s not the issue at-hand.

I’m as shocked and frustrated as any with the way we have performed this season, but Jay Johnson is not the thing that needs fixing here.

This is the SEC, not the Pac12. What happens last year if you don’t have Skenes? Most of that team was recruited by PM. JJ brought in Skenes and put with PM guys. Now this is his 3rd year and his recruits are starting to play, and it’s not looking good.

Question should be, can he sustain success in the SEC like he did the Pac12?

Ty Floyd went 7-0 and K'd 17 in the finals against the 2nd most potent offense in the country last year.

But yea, Paul was the only pitcher we had.

That’s right, don’t blame the millionaire adult, blame the kids. Why are we paying him again? I mean if he’s not responsible for the team why do we need a coach?

Jay deserves some criticism for sure. Im curious though, in your mind when do the players start to get some blame for not executing? Or do you just look past that?

You can lead a horse to water, but you cant make him drink.

There have been no less than 5-7 SEC games now where Jay has had the team in a position to win.

In many of those games, we had the meat of our order up with men on base.

There is a component of this equation that relies on the boys to get clutch hits.

This just has not happened. Jay can’t swing it for them.
Y’all wouldn’t be bitching near as much had we had a few of those clutch hits.

If you want to argue that Jay isn’t developing hitters, that’s fine. Data and reputation flies in the face of anyone who says he isn’t a great hitting coach.

You miss seasoned vets like Beloso, Dugas, Morgan, Jobert, and obviously Crews. Those guys had a pot shite ton of SEC HIGH LEVERAGE at bats.

We have a pretty young team here.

I’m just rambling, but I guess I disagree with how much blame falls on Jay.

I just think people are overreacting and want to throw labels out.

Two things can be true at once. This season is absolutely unacceptable AND Jay is a fantastic baseball coach. Both are equally valid truths.
