Theyre going to really hate it when Elon Musk starts handing out Space X NIL deals.

I am sure there are many here who disagree with this, but a lot of people think Landry is not smart and easily corruptible. And some ( including me) think Rousse is not qualified .
If you believe this, it appears that you have two weak links riding herd on Lane Kiffin, who is very aggressive and unpredictable.
Add in the re-hiring of will Wade and Louisiana's long-standing reputation for moral laxity, and its bad chemistry for those who worry about institutional control. They think there are no adults in the room to watch out for Lane's possible/ likely excesses.
The SEC's concerns are not irrational, but they handled it in such a heavy handed way that it was self -defeating.

Louisiana elected him, so they can shove it.

Landry has spent the last 6 months landing a deal to build the biggest space port on earth in a marsh and these idiots think he’s got time to micromanage a college football program
It’s all performative politics

almost brought up Huey P Long. LA has had many governors who have been more involved in the football program. This is not uncharted waters in Louisiana politics.
A good lsu big 3 sports is GOOD BUSINESS for BR and south Louisiana.
It’s a great investment. And very wise decision by Landry.

I saw a video yesterday that said that it is the absolute most perfect spot for a spaceport anywhere in the US, with its ability to launch both north/south and west/east orbital flights and its easy direct access to natural gas with only minor upgrades on existing infrastructure.

Good luck to the SEC if they want to take on a sitting governor.
And the two most powerful Republican members of Congress as well as a Senator on the Judiciary Committee. SEC was about to step into an unfathomable realm of FAFO.

That's more the latest misdirection since they figured out they were not going to be able to directly get to Kiffin.
Lane left Tennessee after only one year, and only three weeks before signing day.
Lane left Alabama (forced out) just one week before the CFP National Championship Game.
Lane left Ole Miss (forced out) right before the playoffs.
Finebaum, Dellenger, at al., have relentlessly attacked Kiffin the past two weeks. But now that the SEC has taken no action against Kiffin, Kiffin is becoming old news. The media can only bang the same gong for so long.
Rousse and Ausberry have no history to attack.
Gov. Landry has become the new target.

Landry making Huey Long proud!!

He wasn't forced out. But there were things going on that motivated him to seek employment elsewhere. It wasn't just because LSU is a damn fine football program, but LSU being available made it easier.

seemed former president Tate felt pressure from the governors office
Honestly think Landry saw the videos of the twerking at LSU’s back to school block party last year and decided to remove Tate. Which is funny that only now it’s a problem when JBE practically hand picked Tate last time. If yall remember he wasn’t even listed as a candidate before magically showing up as a semi-finalist.

I don’t care where one stands on the political spectrum, threats to kick LSU out of the SEC are an unprecedented act of economic war on the entire state of Louisiana.
SEC better stand down, or be ready for a fight. Our state will not be targeted.

I don’t necessarily think so; they hate us and are trying to punish us for that. They're throwing stuff at a wall at this point and nothing is sticking. Sankey was at Northwestern for a couple years; something must have happened to him there.

He's a fricking dipshit. He hates and has always hated LSU and it shows.

It has to do with the groundbreaking funding plan LSU is working to develop. Will leave the gumps in the dust so it just can’t happen.
They will kick LSU out before they allow it.
At least that is what Pawl thinks.

Ole Miss would not allow him to coach the team for the Playoffs. He was forced out.
Yes. Kiffin was the best thing to happen to Ole Miss since 1993. Ole Miss loved Kiffin.
But it is not inaccurate to say that he was forced out when Ole Miss decided that he could not coach the team for the Playoffs. He wanted to coach the team. He offered to coach the team. Ole Miss told him no.

quote:I respect Governor Landry for trying to bring back a stapled tradition of LSU's lore. He advocated for Mike, but the wokeness that LSU has become wouldn't allow it. The Governor is 100% about "M LSU G A".
Is he bringing Omar back this season?
