Most thought of him as a solid defensive coach and thought he would do well here. A pretty universal thought was that LSU was just a springboard to the NFL. When he won the Natty in ‘03, people started to imagine he might want to settle down and stay here. Then Black Christmas 2004 struck….

Fast forward 5, 6, 7 years when our time with Lane inevitably comes to an end. Some mid-season meltdown. O is on staff. Do they promote him and we wind up like Arky did?
Need to see the roster before we can make that prediction baw. Specifically the QB.
If he gets a guy that has mobility and can spin it, we're good. If we get a Nuss gunslinger type, we're screwed.
Lane knows what skills and abilities thrive in his system, so I have no doubt that he will seek that type of player out.
