Look, I've been to Gainesville 4 trips now. Every single trip I've watched GPD enter into an LSU tailgate and look for rule breakers. When they are finished there, they walk right by the blue and orange tailgates to the next LSU tailgate.
<----- we've brought our tailgate the last two times and GPD has done this to our own setup.

As someone who actually knows UF very well and has gone to multiple games, you will be fine. Just don't be an arsehat. Drunk fans are everywhere. Just smile when we kick the sh*t outta them after the game. I'll be there!

Leaving the stadium we were yelled at....Go home you Mother frickers...get the frick out of here....and the bastards won the game LOL YIKES!!!! But I will say there were some Gator fans that came over and apologize to us for the behavior of their fans, so I guess there are a few good ones not many, notice I said a few, but way too many assholes.

I had a beer thrown on me by some UF punk while walking toward the stadium. He thought I wouldn't do anything because I was walking alone and he was with a big group... Apparently he had done in to another guy right before me and thought it was funny.
The vast majority of UF fans encountered were rude, arrogant trash. It was everywhere.
UF fans behind us went to the cops and were pointing out LSU fans they suspected we're drinking. People were ejected or taken to jail based on accusation.
The place is a cesspool. Worst experience I've had for a gameday. The only away stadiums in the SEC I haven't been too are Starkville and Fayetteville (been to LR). I have no desire to return.

I know a bunch of UF alums. Their nazi cops frick with them just as bad. Be very careful of the open container. We had a blast tailgating with a mixed UF/LSU crowd. Nobody fricked with us either time I went in 02 or 08. The 08 game sucked, but it helps having UF friends because they can guide you through any trouble areas.

Gainesville is like every other SEC road trip.

As for the comment "don't be an a.hole & you'll be ok", I'll say total BS. I have seen the Fla.cops picking on 50-60 old men & women, stone cold sober & deliberately egging them on. Every city in the league has its own open container law & it is up to each fan to know what applies, but Fla. cops ignore any violations by gator fans & pile it on visiting teams' fans. I've tailgated at every stadium in the conference except in Ark, and I have never seen cops entering a tailgating party & deliberately start crap like at Fla. The stadium marshalls are just as bad. No LSU student is safe, & I assume that goes for any other school's student fans. Stay away & don't spend a dime in G.ville.

I've made 4 road trips to Gainesville and never had a single problem. I have seen LSU fans acting like stereotypical LSU fans and they got what was coming to them.
Like I said don't ask for trouble and you likely won't get it.

Yes. Dont go. Had wife and four kids with me a few years ago. Worst experience ever at an SEC venue. a-hole fans before the game, during the game, and even after we won.
Will never go agaIn. Especially with women and children...and we have been to all of tha SEC stadiums over the years.
Looking forward to the Aggoes and Mossou...never been to either.
Save your money for a baby- back rib cookout and get lots of beer.

I've heard all about the cops and fans, but I can't see this "ruining" a trip to Florida. I'm a LSU student. I expect confrontation. A Florida a-hole throwing a beer at me or yelling at me will not make the trip horrible. If anything it will make it more fun when we kill them. I went to Auburn a few years back. didn't like their tailgating or fans but still had a great time. I can imagine if your 40 with kids Gainesville won't be a pleasant experience, but I don't expect to go down there and meet my new best friend in orange and blue. Any SEC trip is fun. Grab a case of beer, stay out of a fight and watch us run over them. You will be fine.

It's the police that sets Gainesville apart and makes it like going to an unfriendly thrid world country.
