Without going into details, here's the espn version.
Very long trip.
Fans are jackasses.
Cops are douches.
Don't drink in the stadium.
Place sucks.

Will not support their economy.

There were a lot of guys riding piggy back on mopeds when we went in 2008.

Pregame inside the stadium was an overall awesome experience until Tebow hit Harvin for the bomb.

Its really weird. EVERYONE there has mopeds. It must be mandatory if you're a guy and enroll at UF you have to buy one. I think its because all of their inner campus roads are closed off to cars.

Every school in america has a-hole fans. I had at least 15 kids run up and physically grab me and scream "Tiger Bait" (how fricking unoriginal) 3 inches from my face after our loss in 2005. I also had fans come up to me before the game in 2009 and wish me good luck and say "We hope your experience in BR was a good one".

Are you guys really bitching about the cops saying something to you about an open container law? Or parking in a no parking zone? Go there, tailgate, have some drinks at your tailgate, enjoy the Florida weather, and go enjoy one of the best stadiums in all of college football.

Go to Knoxville and then tell me about a-hole fans. Go to Athens and then tell me about a-hole local cops.

The drinking laws are unbelievably stupid.

The tailgating is horrible.

There are some good bars, but they are clusterfrick packed on gameday (that's not unusual anywhere).

The stadium is fantastic. One of the few venues that can rival Tiger Stadium in terms of noise.

If the open container law was enforced equally for those in orange and blue as it is purple and gold I wouldn't have an issue.

Not bitching when it's the truth. You set foot off campus and have a drink in your hand, prayers sent.

Those POS cops single out the opposing team's fans, like I stated earlier.

It's Gainesville, not Key West. It's hot and humid just like it is here.

I won't get off of 75 to get gas in Gainesville.

Of course they do, it is the fact that there are 10x's more of them in Gainesville. I've been to Georgia and Tennessee and of course they talked shite to me, but in Florida it is different. It doesn't feel like an SEC tailgate experience.

It's worth mentioning that Gator fans say the exact same thing about LSU fans -- obnoxious, cursed at, spit on, red necks, etc etc.

But the LSU game day experience is orders of magnitude superior.

Such a homer thread. Baton Rouge is absolutely nothing to see. Shitty bars, drunk a-hole fans, dick cops that treat out of towners like....out of towners. And a huge arse stadium that you guys think is the best in the world.

Walk into the Swamp at night and tell me its a shitty experience. Its one of the most amazing game day atmospheres in the country. You guys should appreciate that. Gainesville is not one of the most common destinations for Gameday for nothing. If you want to get shite faced and stumble around the streets, stay in BR and watch it on TV.

As for treating you differently....no fricking shite. Every opposing fan is going to get treated differently at every school. If you think that Baton Rouge cops don't single out the visiting drunks, you are too bias for even this board.

Gainesville is great and The Swamp is the best stadium to watch a college football game.

Well this thread isn't about Baton Rouge, now is it?

I did and will do again. It's sucks. The visiting fans that come here when UF plays here are very personable. Going over there, it's leagues of a-holes.

The main issue I had were the stupid cops. I wasn't drinking, I don't when I go to any games, but I saw plenty who were and the visiting fans were, in a word, bullied by the campus police and/or the Gainesville police. They mess with the visiting fans for drinking, meanwhile 20 Gator fans walk within feet of this (who also are drinking and working on getting hammered) and aren't told anything. That's wrong. The cops just walk up to people and start messing with them.

If you can't admit that's showing a little bias, you're blind.

I've never, ever seen since I've been going to LSU games, which has been a while, anyone, a visitor or an LSU fan, singled out and harassed like I witnessed over there.

Screw that place, like I said earlier.

F that place. I'd rather go to Starkville.

I've only been to Starkvegas once but I had a great time/easy drive (I think it was '07ish time frame) but I find anywhere that the team doesn't really think they have a chance of winning the fans are pretty nice/tame.

We partied with them afterwards out at the bars and they were all good sports. It is weird seeing LSU play in a high school stadium, though. But that will be fixed soon enough.

- obsessedgator, I challenge you to ask about the UFPD/GPD on the SECR.

Because I'd be willing to throw down large that LSU fans aren't the only one with horror stories about the UFPD and Gainesville's "finest".

Then come back here and take you medicine like a man. Don't wuss out.
