Bingo. Dude doesn't want to coach anymore. Just wants to keep cashing those LSU checks. I don't blame him

This. I really and truly think he enjoys what he’s doing right now. I don’t know if he’ll say no to coaching forever but he’s in a pretty good spot. I listen to his podcasts. The guy is loving life.

i believe the clause in his buyout said he had to be actively searching for a job... so we will see his name pop up yearly from his agent so he can do random tv appearances and not have to coach. good for him, he made a crapton of money and now gets to enjoy his family.

Les would be a fool if he stopped taking free LSU money.

I'm fine with that. You fired him, you pay him. It's not really my money, and not yours. My ticket prices aren't paying his buyout. I'm happy with him in Baton Rouge.

I'm a fan of LSU period. I will never put a coach over the school. Les did good things when he was coaching. He also did some not so good things that led to his firing.

The part that pisses me off is that there are still many fans of Les more so than the school itself. Les is perfectly content with taking in a hefty salary from LSU by doing nothing but pretending to be looking for a job. He's no better than a bum on the street trying to milk the system of benefits and it's at the heavy expense of the school.

I respected Les when he was here for all he did. Everyone knows towards the end it was time for him to go. But to continue to milk the system and put the screws to LSU is aggravating as all hell. So for that, frick Les and frick his fans who put him over LSU.

Do you know for a fact that interviewing for a job is required? If not that was a long bitter post for nothing.

that is not how it works. He makes the same amount of money if he takes a job or not. LSU will only pay the difference of what is owed, and what he makes at another job.

If Les really wanted to stick it to LSU, he could take the KU job and have them pay him a $1 salary and use they would be paying him on recruiting budget and asst coaches...basically let LSU pay Les to at KU

What a bizarre and rather misguided melt to start the morning off.

Being reported that Bama QB coach Enos is a top candidate. The Kansas AD was the AD at Arkansas when Enos was on staff there.

Contract says he has to at least attempt to find a new job. He’s put his name in the hat which is sufficient. He doesn’t have to take any job. If you are pissed be mad at LSU for signing up for this buyout, firing him then turning around and doing the same damn thing with the d-line coach.

So if you had a contractual obligation with a company and were promised a certain amount of money but got fired early, you wouldn’t take the buyout money?

You’d be like “no, I don’t want to *steal* from y’all”

Shut the frick up.

He had a contract with clearly stated penalties for early termination of the contract. He's not milking anything, he's collecting what his contractually owed to him.

And we've seen no improvement in those areas since. So who is actually screwing LSU more, the guy who was fired, the guy who fired him for those "not so good things" or the guy who was hired to fix those "not so good things" but is failing to do so.

Would love this. Les LOVES LSU, and he would be a great face for the program.
