re: Is Jayden Daniels the BEST QB LSU has ever had? Yes…even better than Joey B?

No but it’s closer than I ever thought it would be. Also would absolutely pick Daniels if I was an NFL team

If the season ended today Daniels would have the highest passer rating of all time. That stat alone makes your comment completely idiotic. And he runs so much because he knows if there’s a crease then he has the ability to take it 20+ yds.
The guy is absolutely deadly with his arm and legs. If you haven’t been able to see that all year then you are too stupid to argue with

Hard to compare and please dont forget Bert Jones.

Cmon man. He played 2 good defenses this season lost both games

no.
Game on line, I want Joey. Twice this year game was on line in fourth and Daniels did not produce.

I don’t get all the people thinking Daniels is better. He’s incredible no doubt. The competition he’s played against in my opinion no way compares to what Burrow faced. Auburn, Bama, Florida, Clemson, and Georgia all had great defenses. I’m not sure any team Daniels played has played has a better defense than any of those aside from maybe Florida State.

They are 1 and 1a in my book.
Put Daniels on the 2019 team and they still win the title.
Put Burrow on this team and they still have 3 losses.

Hopefully the recent success helps with recruitment of future QBs and hopefully more great dual threat types that give the opposing defenses nightmares
It will but need to keep Denbrock and Sloan around for at least a couple more years.

No chance. JD has tons of talent and has been phenomenal this year, but he didn't excel in the most critical games
Actually he did. Look at his numbers in the losses they are just as good as the wins
FSU was his worst game, I’ll give you that
Ole Miss he got the ball down 6 with 39 seconds left and drove the field making a good pass that was almost caught to win
He was killing Bama before he was knocked out of the game. On pace for 300/200

Joe Burrow has LSU's only undefeated season
See I agree that Burrow slightly ahead. But I’m not going hold it against Daniels that his defense sucks.
As good as Joe was, give him the 2023 defense and they lose to Texas, Bama and maybe Auburn. Hell remember what Ole Miss did to the 2019 defense, imagine that against this one.

No… Top-five but definitely not number one

Sucks that Brian Kelly is a fraud.

The only thing separating Burrow and Daniels is Dave Aranda.
Burrow is uncanny at diagnosing the weaknesses and exploiting it with accurate throws.
Daniels can diagnose and exploit weaknesses with accurate throws, but his ability to take off and ru, making any dead play, a possible first down/ big run, has never been seen before. Not from a guy who can throw it like he can.

Respectfully, who do you want after a big hit?
Remember the UCF big hit and what happened afterwards.
How about the targeting penalty against Clemson in the National Championship and what happened afterwards.
JD5 is a great player but he isn't generational player like BDJ. Like another poster said Joe Burrow is built different.

Not as far as progression to pro football. Running QB’s don’t fair as bell in the long run with the pros. Take a beating and out with injuries (ie; Cam Newton). Joe could spot open receivers and not have to take off running so quick.

Before the argument gets too heated …I also think we are fortunate to see such talent close together…it may be a long time before we see a combo of JB9 so soon followed by JD5. Sit back and enjoy/appreciate it.
As a huge LSU Baseball Fan, the way I look at it is the way we looked at Bregman and then Crews. At the beginning of 2023 you would have been ridiculed if you said Crews was as good as Bregman. But May it was a fair comparison.
And by June it was solidified.
Same goes for Burrow and Daniels. It's harder to accept Daniels' success b/c we're still basking in the glow of 2019. But it's impossible to ignore what he's done since Labor Day. It's like a switch went off and, even in the losses to Ole Miss and Bama, Daniels has dominated the opposition.
It's unparalleled and it's been incredibly fun to watch in person.
If Daniels gets another 300 yards in the air and 80-100 on the ground Saturday, he should go down in LSU history for having the best season for a QB.

That’s BS. Burrow was not concussed
JD has taken a ton of huge hits this year and got up after all but one.
And do you really think he took himself out of the game and didn’t want to return.
I’m not arguing that JD is better but I will argue that if they somehow swapped teams, JD on 2019 and JB on 2013, the records would be identical.

JD5 is broken in half after the UCF hit and the targeting hit in the National Championship.
JD5 has been great this year! The original op was "is JD5 the best ever @ LSU and the answer is no a million times.

He’s a more dynamic runner for sure
