What do you think the film review is like for these two on a weekly basis during football season? Can't be football right? Sloan to Davis," What we watching on netflix this week?" BK enters the room. "Guys we watched that show last month."

Sloan definitely takes most of the blame, but what I can't understand is how you have Brad Davis amd Alex Atkins on staff, and the O-line is as bad as it is.

We have a 20 million dollar team and the second worst offensive line in the sec behind South Carolina. Baker Mayfield was mvp favorite going into tonight and went 28-50 for 228 tonight n was sacked 4 times and pressured all night long. It does have a significant impact on offensive production at some point, even on elite level Qbs that aren't just extremely athletic, mobile guys.

I think Davis is a worse coach but the combination of the 2 is catastrophic

And Davis being worse should not protect Sloan’s job. Both need to go ASAP

bullshite. The fact that last year’s line had 4 NFL players and still could not run block for anything tells you the problem was O line coaching.

You have no strengths when you can’t block anyone
then call designed rollouts and traditional screens to negate the pass rush. Run misdirection, jet sweeps, and reverses. Use our 6’7” TE a lot more. Call nothing that requires our OL to hold their blocks.

It’s an OC’s job to identify his team’s strengths and weaknesses, and then design a scheme and call plays accordingly.

ETA: and yes, try a series or two with MVB since he has different skills than Nuss and might stress the defense in different ways.

Both. But it begins with an offensive line that is terrible. It scares me to think that the coaches think there is no one on the bench who might, if given a chance, at least be mediocre. As to the rest of the offense, too many bone headed mistakes, questionable play calls, and hard-headed determination to do something like pound it in from the two when you can't get run to save your life otherwise. Back in 2020 I could not believe how often we saw the other team's receivers running completely free. Now, I can't believe how often the other team's line runs by our linemen, untouched, or pancakes our offensive line.

80% Davis. 20% Sloan. The play calling would look a lot better if the OL Coaching and Personnel weren't at SWAC level. Like I said back in the Spring and over the Summer, it's a dysfunctional shite show as predicted. It's "Sylvester & the Kardell's." Really bad coaching combined with vastly overrated talent. They're IN OVER THEIR HEADS at this level! (If the Tigers lose to A&M, it might finally be over for Davis)

Mostly Davis.. Very hard to call plays when you can't blocked anyone.

BS. Go watch Flynn break down film. It’s play calling. RPO crap. Hand ball off and hit the hole.

These slow arse developing plays are not made for this offense.

Davis has been LSU's OL coach since 2021. LSU's rush offense:

2021 - 114 ypg
2022 - 184 ypg (Jayden - 885 yds)
2023 - 204 ypg (Jayden - 1134 yds)
2024 - 116 ypg
2025 - 112 ypg

So unless we have a Heisman freak QB that can run for 800+ yards a season, Davis can't get a decent run game. I don't think Jayden or Sellers would do much with this OL though.

I've been watching LSU football back since the days of Dalton Hilliard and I can't remember an OL this bad.

Even extremely athletic mobile guys can't QB behind bad lines. And I don't think talent is the issue with our OL. We have 4-5* guys on the line. They didn't whiff on all of those guys. We also have 3* guys that are playing the best.

Davis. No line, no offense, regardless of who the coordinator is. And don't give me crap about mobile qbs. When 4 are beating 6 consistently, that mobile is going to run for his life.

And I write that as one who thinks Sloan should go.

Both. The offensive line development is nonexistence, and the playcalling doesn't fit Nuss skillset. The OC should be able to scheme around what the QB does best, and we had two years of lackluster playcalling. You need an inch to score a touchdown and you're 5 yards back with a Pocket-Passer QB, you should be fired just off that.

It's BD but Sloan is also somewhat at fault but the O line is the cause of most of the offenses problems.

Def both. Yes OL stinks bad but as the OC you know this and must plan for that in play calling with wrinkles and creativity. You call plays that dont expose your weakness.
Instead the only creative thing done are WR screens.

Then it is back to running up the middle and pocket passing with 15 yd routes. So the def can pin their ears pack and get adter the qb.

You cant keep repeating it over and over. Move the pocket, bootlegs, rollouts, middle RB screens, sweeps, RB toss. We saw none of this.

Sure Nuss isnt mobile but you dont have to be fast to run a boot leg or bootleg. It gets him out of a collapsing pocket and gives open view of WRs

Doesn’t really matter exactly who is at fault.

When an LSU offense ranks in the 80’s in PPG and YPG, there’s no other choice but to rebuild the offensive staff.
