re: Is Brian Kelly the most despised former head coach in LSU's history?

Brian Kelly just always seemed a year behind to me. Does that make sense to y'all
Atrocious Special Teams, then no defense, then no offense. Never exhibited old Tiger intensity and toughness.
Very poor judgement on assistants. Obvious (eventually) lazy involvement in problem areas. After bragging about his OL expertise, and saying we had a good OL, he comments in the press conference after the fourth game that we are not blocking properly. DUH. How about walking over to the
OL practice, and COACH.

Kelly is a Moron…a wealthy one.
No, I don’t think you could beam it on being a motion- his arrogance and detachment and refusal to accept accountability comes from making excuses, blaming others, thinking he knows more than everybody else, not from being clueless or blissfully aware….
He’s smart enough to understand or know better, but digs in and insists nothing is his fault.

Curly Hallman!!! Not even close!

I was neutral on the hire. Never really liked him but I figured well shite maybe he can win here too. Losing to aTm in 2022 and the multiple arse kickings at home pissed me off, but when he responded to Cauble’s question about the offense with the dumbest fricking answer imaginable, I was done with him. He insulted our intelligence and had the gall to tell us we are spoiled. frick him.

Curly is thought of as….
A Dumb Country Moron.
Don’t think he’s HATED like BK !!!

I’d honestly rather have 5-6 Orgeron than that leprechaun POS
Wow, I wouldn't. Orgeron's media sessions were a little funny but devoid of ANY football knowledge. I mean how many times can you say "Geaux Tigers" and act like you are an intelligent football guy. Brian Kelly came across as very football saavy to me. He went into X's and O's, knew all the jargon, etc. The two things that irritated the hell out of me was 1) he would outright lie about injuries but not the first coach to do that 2) main issue was "well, we need to get this corrected"....GOT IT...so correct it and don't come up with the same statement week after week. That is..***COACH***!

Kelly and Curly kinda run neck and neck.

Curly was just incompetent and in over his head and at least tried to win games. Brian signed a $100 million contract then mailed it in after 2022 knowing he would get paid win-or-lose. He couldn't care less about LSU or the fan base because the university was just his retirement plan. Kelly was much worse than Hallman.

Camp Curley, in a landslide

Curly Hallman
at least with BK we had some highs.
Curly was just misery

How about Paul Dietzel when he left, or Saban when he signed with Alabama?

I don’t despise him. I don’t think he is the greatest guy but most coaches aren’t. I really thought he would use this opportunity to cement his legacy but he just used it to grift LSU. I didn’t like the Orgeron hire but after Les he was a breath of fresh air and gave me the greatest season of LSU football I could dream of. I actually like him way more than Les. I grew up in the Curly and Dinardo years so the bar was set really low. Les frustrated me the most to be honest because I expected more of him and even though he was successful I feel like he left a lot on the table. He refused to change and became arrogant at the end when everyone was complaining about the things that were obvious.

Nah man, Charles E Coates
Loses 34-0 to Tulane. Then fired. Some chemist!

Response to Kelly is a product of expectations. LSU has never hired a football coach with his resume, never paid so much, never committed so much player money, all for things to burst into flames.
Curley Hallman coached at LSU when we refused to pay for elite coaches. We got what we paid for. Orgeron delivered 2019. Miles delivered two SEC titles and one championship. Hatred for them fades into the memories of those teams. Kelly has few moments to offset the bitterness of unmet expectations.

Yes, you did. You still pushing for us to hire Dave Aranda like you were four years ago?

TL/DR: Kelly. Not even close.
