Is Blake Baker’s future at LSU tied to the AU game?

His defense does not play well on the road

His defense has historically had real problems vs QBs like AU has

If the defense lays an egg next Saturday, will that eliminate him from returning next year

Blake isn’t going anywhere. The only way he leaves is for a head job. He’s not getting fired. Get comfortable with him being here next season.

#3 ranked national defense
- #1 in SEC
#17 ranked national scoring defense
- #2 in SEC (tied with Georgia)
#11 ranked nationally rushing defense
- # 1 in SEC
#17 ranked passing defense
- #5 in SEC

It’s not that bad.

You want to fire the guy because his defense had a single bad drive during the Kentucky game?

Remember, the same defense just shut a 16th ranked SEC opponent yesterday.

Our society is extremely susceptible to group think and popular opinion.

Please stop using the Lord’s name inappropriately. I’m going to call this out every time I see it. There are other ways to express yourself. I’m not some holy roller but I’m just tired of the disrespect for the Lord.

I completely disagree with this. If he totally drops the ball in the next four games, which isn’t out of the realm of possibility, I don’t think Kiffin would think twice on letting him go.

4-2 trumps all of that.

He looks real good when 5 of the 7 teams he’s had to defend are all in the bottom half of total offense in all of CFB and State is playing with out their star QB.

The only two teams with an offensive pulse didn’t look great for someone who is supposedly this defensive mastermind and getting paid like one.

Not to mention this is also a recurring theme for him the two years prior to this one.

And I remember how everyone used to flash stats about Nuss, but anytime the SEC Only stats are brought up, suddenly those numbers don't look so great.

Yes, it was great against bad teams. Against good offenses, against OM, we couldn't get a stop at the end of the first half, or at the end of the game. Against KY, we couldn't get a stop at end before halftime, or hold the lead with a full field to go, and no timeouts, with just over a minute left in the game.

That's just this year. Let's not talk about Bama and A&M last year.

He can be elite, but he needs to change some things up. He generally makes good adjustments at half...just can't figure out why we often start badly like he was caught unprepared...and then doesn't adjust UNTIL halftime.
