Chief really was interesting. Shut down some absolutely dynamic playmakers and offenses and then just had those strange third and Chavis moments way too often.

Ole Miss scored 24 on us last season, their lowest point total of the season.

Ask yourself how many times this season has the team over pursued the qb.

"Qb contain" is a trademark of Monte Kiffin's Defense that won the SB for Tampa Bay 2002. Pretty sure CLK passed the info along. Plus HP and others aren't on the field avoiding contact.

To be fair Ole Miss only scored 24 points last year with LSU’s garbage offense keeping them on the field. LSU wins pretty comfortably if they hold Ole Miss to 24.

Watching Clemson and La Tech, i noticed our D's, specifically our LB's pursuit angles were so much better than previous years. Previous years, our LB's would just sprint directly at the QB, and for someone like Chambliss, pretty easy to side step or roll out to avoid. Specifically Clemson, our guys seemed rather than get hurried, focused on containment prior to making the tackle.

One of their td drives was also helped out by a 50/50 PI on what would have been a pick 6

Mobile QB’s were Saban’s Kryptonite. It’s why he ordered his thugs to take out JD. He was having Johnny Manziel PTSD.

Whenever I see a post like this, it always takes me back to when LSU shut Manziel down against A&M in his Heisman trophy season. That was fun to watch.

Chambliss is going to run all over Baker. It’s just not his bag. Why would he start being able to scheme against mobile QB’s now? He’s never been able to do so.

It’s not rocket science. Damn. Just set the edges and spy the QB.

I agree. We now have better edge players to keep him contained. 6&7 will be blitzing and spying. I like our chances to force him to make quick throws.

He can finally get pressure with only the front four for the first time. That should help

Some fluke plays last year, and in all honesty we had issues at the LBer position.

Weeks was playing well, the fractured his ankle and kept playing.

West Weeks was playing way too many snaps and was a major liability against mobile QBs.

If Dottery and Whit Weeks are healthy for this game, it will be much different.

LSU also had issues on the inside of the DL last year. It wasn't awful, but was not a strength of the team. Again, injuries played a part.

The offense was bad, and missing Durham and having a turnstile at RT didn't help much.

If LSU can run the ball tomorrow effectively, and having a mobile QB will help with that, then they should be able to better control the game and how long the defense is on the field.

. One of the most overused phrases on tiger droppings. Every defense has a problem with mobile quarterbacks, that’s why the trend in football is toward mobile quarterbacks. It’s a tough thing to defend. For once we finally have the horses to do it.
