Incredibly dumb that they couldn't disclose this during the season.

Especially if the idea was to protect his draft stock. NFL would know it anyway, and it’s coming out now at any rate

This became obvious when every time he was knocked down the offensive line had to pick him up off the ground.

It takes a strong core to get up off the ground when on your back.

That article goes out of its way to say he WASNT hurt. At least not significantly. It certainly doesn't mention Core or Torso.
I guess we can infer that's when the core/torso injury happened? (I believe knee was what was reported on here when that happened)

2 days later Aug 8 there were articles that he was dealing with "Patellar Tendonitis" no mention of core/torso.

Point being: If my Heisman frontrunner QB had a preseason injury and said "Feels off/Hurts when I throw" I would have had him at the best torso/coreologist in the country the next day.

2 in state games but he insisted on playing. Both games he got the crap beat out of him.

Think about that statement for a minute. A 5th year senior and an SEC offensive line and the QB is getting his teeth kicked in. They might have waited too long to get rid of Kelly.

Agreed

So you run a QB out that can't throw the ball with top velocity?

I think it was a combination of a few different things:

1) The backups were in no way, shape or form ready at the start of the season.

2) They had a lot of money invested in Nuss with NIL, and possibly was set up to require him to be playing.

3) Youth in the OL and they thought his experience would help there.

4) It was known that the offensive coaching brain trust was a bunch of morons, particularly Sloan. The biggest mistake Kelly made was keeping him as OC when Underwood bolted. It was stupid to put him as OC even if Underwood came. Reminds me of Miles tying himself to Cameron when a change was needed and it ended up costing him his job.

In the end, I think Nuss probably also just wanted to play and thought he could play through it. He couldn't do it effectively, and it cost the team.

They found out the problem a month ago?
Why did it take them so long?

It easily could have been a misdiagnosis. Happens all of the time.

A gimpy QB behind an OL that refused to block anyone was a recipe for disaster

Bad decisions all around were made when allowing a badly hurt player to play in games that could be career ending actions. Brian Kelly and all of our previous offensive staff should be ashamed for allowing what we all witnessed this past football season. Also, Nussmeier himself did not use good judgement by playing. I hope Nuss has more success in the NFL.

If he couldn’t play because he was hurt, then he should’ve sat.

Brennan missed an entire season with a core injury.

They hurt and take a long time to recover. It sucks when you can’t bend, twist, sit, stand or reach without pain.

Apparently he /they din't know until recently, the injury or how to fix it..

“We were really able to get some answers. Probably about a month ago was the first time we were able to figure out what it was. Finally got a good plan to try and get healthy, so it was a gametime decision to see if I would be able to come out here.”

I can't really wrap my head around him going the whole season not knowing the issue or how to fix it while his play really struggled then all of a sudden the season is over and now they know how to fix it

Is LSU's medical staff that bad?

I wish him the best. I’m glad he and Kelly are both gone.

So how and when did he hurt it?
I seem to remember him getting hurt pretty late in the preseason practices. There were a couple days where people speculated that the season was over before it began; and in retrospect that might have been true.

Now you're just bitching.

LSU had Underwood, the #1 QB prospect, committed the entire offseason. That guy would have been a prime candidate to take over ASAP; obviously this season but likely last season if Nuss faltered.
It's pretty tough to get other commits when you have the obvious choice lined up.

On top of that, LSU had Van Buren, who had started a bunch of games in the SEC as a freshman, signed to be the 3rd string.

shite happened, we lost Underwood to Michigan and moneybags, and we were forced to play Van Buren at the end.

I'm not saying Kelly was great, but how many teams do you think are out there, that could lose the #1 QB recruit with a week to go, lose their starter, and still trot out a guy with multiple SEC starts under his belt?
