So sitting him thru the first 5 weeks or so to let him heal wasn’t an option?

Kelly can go to hell.

True. Nuss was injured. What was their excuse?

100%. It was that coaching staffs job to put together an offensive line that could protect a QB and open running lanes and they failed miserably to do so. The offensive staff catastrophically failed at pretty much every metric.

You could put a dart board on the wall, full of sections that feature coaching malpractice, throw a dart at any of them you like and it would apply to the 2025 LSU offensive staff.

Build an offensive line- failed
Establish a run game - failed
Protect the QB- failed
Design the offense to your personel- failed
Coach up some break out receivers- failed

They failed at every level and metric.

This is such nonsense. He's just throwing this out there to try to save whatever draft stock he can

They only found out what the injury problem was a month ago? How does that even make any sense

Agreed

So you run a QB out that can't throw the ball with top velocity?

Knowing that you play him against a FCS opponent rather than giving him a week to rest ahead of a SEC road game (which you lost).

Also, despite being able to throw with max effort, you run several pass plays that require long throws from one hash to the other boundary?

He probably was limited to a degree. But I don't buy that was the biggest reason for the terrible offense. Limted QB + terrible offensive design/playcalling + stubborn coaching staff that refused to adjust the approach = unfulfilling season.

For better or worse, it resulted in a new HC who looks like his much better suited to fit this new era of college football. If 2025 was the one step back to take 2 steps forward, it will be worth it.

After the Clemson game when it was clear he was not 100% he should have sat the next 3 weeks. BK being willing to watch him struggle and limp around was complete coaching malpractice

anyone that couldn't see that Nussmeier was not himself AND on top of that the team offense was also a shite show is a fricking a-hole who previously hated Nussmeier who were just simply looking to prove themselves right about a retarded opinion from prior.

Spot on. It was so painfully obvious that something was wrong, but people continued to listen to guys like Moscona, Ruffino, and Scarborough say that he’s “fine”.

So, did Kelly know this? Why didn’t we try to go get another QB?

Why BK was so adamant that he wasn't hurt? It was obvious. The INT he threw against Ole Miss was just not Nuss. Really crazy to think about how we'd have had a solid season without this injury. I think his arm would have masked a lot of the offense's deficiencies (see 2024). Sloan's offense is horrible without a QB that can throw it all over the yard. It's at least mediocre with a healthy Nuss.

Hunt reporting Abdomen, ESPN said it was the knee, so which one is it?

Was always both of sorts but the abdominal was the major one that was being downplayed all year

Why did it take them so long?
Not that it would have made a difference because there is no cure for those oblique injuries other than long rest. They linger all season. We know that from watching Drew Brees.

Very dumb for him to have played at all. He sucked and let everyone down. It was obvious he was hurt. Doesn’t help when the oline is the worst in LSU history.

“I couldn’t use my core,” Nussmeier said. “So, I was throwing the ball without a core. I’ve been having to go back from the ground up and retrain myself and get back to finishing throws and rotating through the ball. I’m actually using my core now. It’s been nice. The ball is definitely coming out a lot different.”

But they told us that we were morons and our eyes were lying to us. Trust the staff that sees him everyday they said.

Scary to think that if Nuss sits to get healthy and Van Buren starts at least from Florida until Nuss is healthy; Kelly might still be coaching. But since Kelly apparently wasn't ever around, maybe he thought Nuss was faking it.

Thats on BK and the coaching staff. If he was hurt, he should have sat and recovered for those games. He should not be able to “insist” in that situation.

Did it affect his decision making and mobility? Love the dude and his passion but this is on BK. He should have rested him immediately after the Florida game and let him rest for the Southeastern game. That would have given him 2 weeks to rest up before the Ole Miss game and would have also given Van Buren some reps which would have helped LSU down the road.
