In the 21st Century, are we better against Bama at 230pm?

I was there and ran on the field in 2000. All I got. Leaving this up to the illustrious statisticians on this board.

If you’re good enuf who cares what time the fricking game is? Just line up and kick a$$!!! “Winners” don’t care if the sun is up or down…but losers may look for some stupid a$$ excuse about the fricking sun. Just win!!!!

We absolutely are better against Bama during the day. I can’t believe so many fans have missed that and are complaining about the day game.

History shows that even though LSU was better on paper and resume they still found a way to lose. Hopefully that trend will turn around.

That isn’t unique to the Bama games for me personally lol

I don’t think you can prove with any statistical significance that this is true.
For the first decade of the 2000s the series was pretty evenly split between afternoon and night kickoffs. And LSU’s record was essentially similar.
For the last 15 years the game has almost exclusively been at night. A period that coincides with Bama’s dominance against basically everyone.
The two wins since 2011 one was afternoon, one night.
The majority of LSU’s losses occurring in night kickoffs doesn’t really equate to LSU performing better against Bama in day games. The win total is mostly even between the two.

So you’re just ignoring all the losses at night and pretending they didn’t happen so you can make the record look more even?

LSU is better against Bama when they are better than Bama.

I’m not ignoring the losses occurring at night. In 26 years only about 6 of the games had a 2:30 kickoff.
I don’t believe kickoff time has anything to do with the results.
LSU also has a better record in the state of Alabama than Louisiana. Maybe they should ask for the game to be moved there, too.

Recall that was the year we lost to UAB and beat the "real" Alabama.
I did not attend that game, but I was there in 2010 (in the daylight, baws). That's the only time I've ever watched LSU beat Alabama in person.
I watched a lot of losses at night in person, though, notably 1987, 1989, 1994 and 2002.

To quote a great American (Pops Midnight, RIP), "You have to be 10x as good as Alabama to beat them by 3 points."
