I do. I bet Jayden Daniels $400 to go 1st overall in October because I thought he was vastly better than Caleb. 75:1 odds. Missed out on $30,000. He's obviously been better than Caleb. If NFL scouts were as good as me, they would've seen Jayden is better, and I'd have 30k more.
College football coaches aren't Ivy League grads. If you hear them talk, they aren't the kind to get over a 24 on the ACT. The job doesn't really require being a genius. It's more you have to have the in. Either a coach's son or some other route, but it's more of a fraternity and if you're not in it then you won't get a job at least at HC level.

That isn’t how they’re evaluating QBs anymore
Tell us what they’re seeing then.

I didn’t say anything about what they’re seeing, I’m telling you they don’t put so much stock in arm strength and size anymore. The guy made a comment about Leaf, he’s part of the reason it’s changed.

I hope jerk fans don’t run him off
No one is hoping to “run him off.” He’s an uber talent. But the kid needs to grow up and stop throwing deep balls just for the hell of it. He’s got to actually see the path of the receiver, which he has yet to hit.

We can’t blame Nuss entirely

Maybe he improves next yr, but I just don’t see anything there like we did with Burrow/Daniels. Him refusing to run is just baffling.

Agree, the defense is still atrocious, plain and simple. Or, lets be specific, it’s not what we had from 2005-2015. But our QB play (had it been better) could have earned us wins against both A&M and Florida had it been more accurate…

Ok you point out the missed throws but you got to give credit for that dime to Anderson. Great throws to Taylor.
Nuss runs hot & cold. You never know what you are getting from quarter to quarter, series to series, throw to throw. He's only consistent at being inconsistent.

LSU fans just had Burrow and Daniels, Nuss is not like them.

Pro scouts are wrong all the time, pal.

Sam Darnold,

Yeah I have actually. He's on his 4th team in 7 years.
He has a very quarterback friendly offense and Justin Jefferson to throw to.
Not exactly setting the world on fire for the investment of a number one pick.

When is the last time LSU evaluated a QB from HS and fully developed them? Feels like decades. All the success we've ended up with at QB were transfers.

Pro Scouts drafted Maason Smith 2nd Round. I said I didnt think he would go higher than 5th, but should go 7th round at the earliest.
Maason Smith has played in 4 NFL games and been a healthy scratch 7 out of 11 weeks. So yeah, Pro Scouts get it wrong.

Nuss throws the worst deep ball in all of college football. PERIOD.
Overthrows by 7 yards or gets picked
Jaden had a beautiful touch on his long ball. Guess working with your receivers in the off season actually does work!

His absolute refusal to run ever is bizarre, you’d think he was cemented into the pocket with an electric fence around it.
You really must not watch games. He scrambles out of the pocket quite a bit. Unfortunately, he’s very hesitant to take the 5-10 easy yards he could get after he breaks the pocket. Now he is very accurate throwing on the move, but the decision making gets him in trouble. He has to realize taking the automatic 5-10 yards rather than throwing into a tight window is usually the better choice.

In all fairness to Nuss, the schemes and play calls never appeared to be adapted throughout the year due to any of the weaknesses you had listed. Seemingly not adapting to the personnel, expecting Nuss to perform at a JD5 level. I remember when LSU used to rely solely on the run and only passed when it was opportune. Today it’s the opposite, running the entire offense through the QB, with zero called QB run plays when you have a fairly mobile QB.
