Exactly. CEO knows where the bodies are buried, even if he buried a lot of them himself

Still doesn’t sit well with me but I agree…the alternative is worse and could end up costing LSU way more in the long run

At this point it was condone and enable, not cause, but blackmail. And you can't blackmail someone who doesn't have anything to lose. Also, if there is something really bad and they didn't at least suspend him immediately at the time, then there is reason to fire the chain of command for cause.

It's called leverage. LSU is not Squeaky clean. Neither is any other program. Woodward gave him the raise and extension when there was no one coming after Coach O.

Why does this board not think the man should get all of what is contractually owed to him?
Kind of bizarre

But voltiger said it was going to be a reduced buyout for cause, and he is an INSIDER.

Because one party to that contract hasn't really satisfied his obligations under the contract, at least in spirit.

I might be mixing you up with someone but thought you were a lawyer.
Either way you would lose that case in every courtroom in the country.

I am.
That's why I said "in spirit". I realize that's a losing proposition, which is why I understand paying the full amount of the buyout.
