You reveal you’re wearing a vest with C4 taped to it under your jacket. Let him know one mistake and this things getting set off

Get out there and have fun.

You take him aside and remind him that life is more than baseball and that at the end of the day, its just a silly game.

Talk about crushing whatever confidence he has left.

Idk what has been said to this point. I would think a batting coach would tell him to try to go to right center…I have not seen him try that and they love throwing him sliders away. LHP tonite so maybe he will get inside sliders but at this point I’m telling him to try and get walked lol

Tell him, forget the past, get a couple hits today and the fickle fans will cheer you as a hero.
We all deal with emotions. The latest big hit vs the last mistake, will change most fans reply.

Forget everything about yesterday, think about the phenomenal play you made behind third to throw a guy out at first in a previous game. I want that effort and execution. Laser focus, be decisive when you swing the f$$king bat, like you’re trying to hit a 500 ft. HR.

You tell him you love him, appreciate him, amd go play ball. You also have your team captains reiterate that.
Focus on positivity, not negativity.

Fresh start. Forget about it.

I'd tell him I believe in him. That the season has been 70 games long snd he's a huge reason why we are where we are. Just take a deep breath and believe in yourself. It's just a game, you know what you're doing, just be you.

I would have brought Skip in to speak to the team and talk about visualization which he is known for. Might have even shown Hold the Rope documentary to the team. If JT can visualize himself making plays it will go a long ways to getting rid of those demons.

I'd give my infallible hitting advice I used to give my little league players.
For older ones, I'd tell them: An at bat is like going to a school dance and looking to meet a girl. Early in the dance is like having 0 strikes. Don't swing at it unless it is a perfect down the middle gift of a pitch. Having one strike is like the middle part of the dance. You lower your standards a bit. If it looks like a hittable strike, swing. If it looks like a ball, hold off. Having two strikes is like the end of the dance. Standards are very low. Unless it is over your head, in the dirt or 3 feet off the plate, take a swing at it.

It is a mental thing for him, extra cage time, watching film, etc won't move it. He has to get it between he ears.
The only thing you can do if he is your option is love him and tell him he has it in him, but HE has to find it. HE has to remember who he is - an extremely talented player.
This kid, with one swing of the bat or one great move in the field could be back. It is seriously one of the worst cases of the Yi(#& I have seen and it was still building the snowball yesterday.

Turn the page. Leave it all on the field. Trust your teammates.

There is nothing you can tell him that will fix anything. He knows they love him and trust him. Continuing to hammer him with that won’t do anything mentally
The change must come from within, not without.

You say “play ball”. He doesn’t need to be reminded of his 1-31 or his errors. You better believe he is well aware of it. He does not need additional pressure put on him. All you can do is hope he gets his act together and starts playing like he is capable of playing.

The team needs rest - mental and physical.
They've had a much harder path to this series than Florida.
LSU rested in game two. They good to go.

Sure thing skip bertman
I think I would rather coach Johnson construct the lineup than some message board hacks living vicariously through players who have more success than said hacks
