This is your answer.

I see a lot of low scores predicted for the ‘11 team. The defense was nasty, but the offense blew out everyone except Bama.
After Jefferson went in as starting QB, the offense struggled to score in the 1st half against everybody. Typically the D or special teams provided a spark, including in the SECC.
I see the downvote, so I’ll provide halftime numbers for the games Jefferson started.
Western Kentucky 14-7. Game was tied at 7 until 3:33 left in the half.
The worst Ole Miss team ever 35-3, with 2 defensive TDs and a short field provided by a forced fumble
Arkansas 21-14 with a kick return TD. Arky led 14-0 in the 2nd qtr.
Georgia 7-10 and the only TD was a kick return. UGA blew a couple of chances to open a big halftime lead. Most at the game thought we’d lose at the half.
Bama round 2, 0-6 and didn’t cross the 50
Edit: JJ didn’t start the 1st Bama game so I removed it.

I say it would be worse than the 21-0 beat down Bama gave them
1. they didnt score a TD until there were 4 minutes left in the game. sorry but 5 FGs is not a beat down, at least on defense.
2. "@schadjoe Joe Schad - Kirby Smart says Gregg Williams of Saints helped w plan to contain option plays"
Williams has been in the NFL for 30 years, its likely hes never even seen the option, but after watching us practice in the dome suddenly he had information for nick saban, who totally seems like the type to take unsolicited advice from a stranger (theyve never worked together) especially for a national championship game right, thats the nick saban we all know. Im sure it was just thoughts on JJ and the option, which saban never had trouble stopping to begin with.

I'd like to think 2019 LSU > 2011 Bama
2011 Bama 21 - 2011 LSU 0
Therefore, 2019 LSU 22 - 2011 LSU 0
2011 Bama 21 - 2011 LSU 0
Therefore, 2019 LSU 22 - 2011 LSU 0

I think 2011 would be slightly favored. Joe would probably pull it off but our 2011 team could run for 300yds.
2011 bama and Lsu were two of the best teams ever and we barely beat bama the first time. We barely beat bama this year and that’s one of the worst Saban teams.

Similar to the championship game. Elite/legendary D holds O to field goals the finally gives way. But our D isn’t as good as that Bama D was. 24-10. 2019 with the win.
Y’all have to remember that if that 3011 team could have beaten Bama again, they were in the conversation for the greatest ever. Even with the loss, they beat the Pac 12 champ and big East champ. They were the SEC champs and beat the eventual national champion. That team was special and we should never forget it.

2019 a hard fought 40
2011 a smash mouth 33
Finally someone with a clue
I’d say more like 31-23 2019 though.
That 2011 secondary and pass rush was light years better than any defense we played this season, including Auburn.
Burrow is playing at another level right now though, so I do think the offense hits 30.
I do think the 11 offense would struggle inside the red zone if we didn’t punch it in on big runs, which this defense has been susceptible to at times.
Ultimately, Burrow would do whatever it took at the end. He is the GOAT after all.

Say we only manage 24 points. Could you see us winning?
Yes. This defense is fricking good. The ONLY reason this defense gives up the points they do is because of how absolutely dominant the offense is.
You get into a defensive battle with LSU you will lose.

2019 . . . 47.1 . . . . 25.5 . . . . . 21.6

Great numbers
While the teams were built completely differently, they were both overwhelmingly dominant teams.
Only one team stayed within 2 TDs of 2011, and that team had perhaps the best defense in CFB history, and we split the series with them 1-1.
Saying this offense would blow that defense out is equally as ridiculous as saying that defense would shut this offense out.

The only thing I’ll say for sure is that 2011 LSU was a better team than anyone 2019 LSU has played on their schedule

If they played by today’s rules then 35-17 is probably right. If they played by the rules of 2011 there is no way on God’s green earth the 2019 offense scores even 10 points. In fact, Ensminger would have to completely re-do the offense. It’s astonishing how much holding is allowed in 2019. Saahdiq Charles would be flagged on every pass play, and Deculus would be flagged on about half of them. And if they stopped holding Burrow would be running for his life. It’s a different game. 2019 LSU wins by 2019 rules, and 2011 LSU wins by 2011 rules.

I’ve said it about other past teams and I’ll say it about the 2011 LSU team.
As good as that defense was. They’d look like a deer caught in headlights facing this offense.

Truth is, if they played 100 times, 2011 team still probably wins at least 40 of them.
Mathieu, much like Burrow, was an absolute game changer. He was good for a turnover per game, basically.

You have a short memory.
2011 was the best modern-day D yet in CFB and magnitudes better than any D we've faced (or will face) this year.
To the OP's question, which 2019 D are talking? The one we saw most of the season or the one from the last 3 games?
If the latter, edge to 2019. Else, edge to 2011 due to STs.

Why do people bring up 21-0 as why we would lose? We beat Bama that season. That game was bs. Someone else pointed it out, LSU has to go 2-0 to win while the other only needs 1-1.
2019 most likely wins that game, but that's just how good the offense is. I'd be interested though if 2011 could run on this team and keep burrow off the field. That would be the only chance.

the 2011 team could generate a pass rush with just the front 4.
