The defense and special teams in 2011 were insanely good. It’d be closer than 35-13. Maybe 31-20?

I do not think 30+ points would be scored on the 2011 defense. That secondary was SICK.

I do not think JJ could score 20 points on this year’s defense especially with Les Miles coaching.

You are all forgetting how dominant 2011 was. They should’ve played Oklahoma state they would’ve crushed them and we would be arguing that they were like 95 Nebraska

Is there anyone on offense that can tackle honey badger?

Only Dominated against College teams, those that get help from the saints is different. Remember Greg Williams involvement in their defeat?

Are we talking about a Jarrett Lee offense or Jordan Jefferson offense?

As long as 2019 doesn't punt to Honey Badger, they win.

That defense was great but this O is one of the greatest to ever play. Joe pus up 37 on them and the two-headed QB gets maybe 24.

This thread brings to mind a question...can this LSU team win a relativelt low scoring game?

Say we only manage 24 points. Could you see us winning?

sidenote: Im assuming the playoff has changed this but at the time, only 2 teams had ever beaten 3 of the final top 5; 1971 Nebraska, often considered the best team of all time, and 2011 LSU.

making us go 2-0 vs bama to win a title, while they only had to go 1-1, is and was an insult, that was one of the greatest teams in the history of college football and deserves to be remembered that way.

The LSU team that lost to Bama 21-0.
I remember the deer-in-the-headlights looks from JJ and the offense. Those two teams ground out the 9-6 game too. I know, they were strong teams FOR THEIR TIME, but this LSU team is arguably among the best ever. And with the defense starting to dominate, embarrassing Oklahoma, I say it would be worse than the 21-0 beat down Bama gave them.

Defense was the phenomenal in 2011 but would get worn out like they did on the actual title game vs bama. Lsu 2019 offense would torch them in 2nd half and find a few scores in half anyway.

I see a lot of low scores predicted for the ‘11 team. The defense was nasty, but the offense blew out everyone except Bama. This year’s defense is nowhere near as good as that Bama defense.

2019 a hard fought 40
2011 a smash mouth 33
