Meanwhile Alabama had a 63% completion rate, 433 yards, only 1 INT, and rushed for 3.7 ypc in two games against LSU. Let's not pretend they won the rematch 3-0, they were definitely not completely shutdown by LSU. And that Alabama offense is not in the same stratosphere as this LSU offense.

Where are you getting these #s from?

Game 1: Bama was 16-29-2 and had 295 total yds 9-6 Stats
Game 2: Bama was 23-34-0 and had 384 total yds.
0-21 Stats

In game 1 the ToP was almost equal, In game 2 Bama had a huge lead (35:26 vs 24:34).

FTR, that Bama O scored 27 pts in 8 qtrs + 1 OT.

Oregon scored 27
WVU scored 21
Ark scored 21
Bama scored 21

Arky only scored 17 of which 7 was a defensive TD (when Michael Ford fumbled) and the first 3 were blowouts. For example, Oregon scored their last TD with 13s on the clock. We forced 4 TOs vs WVU and should have intercepted a few more.

The 4th game listed was a rematch where I think Saban was fully confident they could stone us. That enabled him to play much looser than if to the contrary.

I would also point out that Les's approach to games was very different than what we see from Ed.

Take away all the points offenses scored after we were up
21+ this year and see where the 2019 defense finishes

2019 could put stingley and Fulton man to man on Randle and Beckham and stack the box
No way 2011 scores more than 17 and 2019 scores 28-35

sidenote: Im assuming the playoff has changed this but at the time, only 2 teams had ever beaten 3 of the final top 5; 1971 Nebraska, often considered the best team of all time, and 2011 LSU.

making us go 2-0 vs bama to win a title, while they only had to go 1-1, is and was an insult, that was one of the greatest teams in the history of college football and deserves to be remembered that way.

2011 was greatest team in CFB history until 2019 skull drags Clemson Nd takes that title away.

That 2011 defense was good, but gave up a lot of passing yards against West Virginia:

2011 would be playing with more talent and at a different speed than any D in CFB this year.

2019 scored 37 against UGA, and that 2011 LSU defense was a LOT better than this UGA defense.

Are we talking about a Jarrett Lee offense or Jordan Jefferson offense?

This such a true statement!!!! Brady could have made Lee a great system QB. But it’s the past and I think 2019 has healed those old wounds

this year's Auburn defense that held us to 23 points.

To be fair, that game was not a fair representation of this offense, especially late season.

Slick field and some unnecessary scheme changes. If they played right now, no way LSU doesn't score 35+
