If O doesn't fire Pelini, how warm does his seat get next season?

Personally, I think O's seat gets real warm immediately if Pelini isn't fired during the offseason. It's one thing to have a young team and make mistakes, but it's another story to be a colossal embarrassment with the talent on that roster. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds because the excitement of winning a NC is long gone, but the standard to win is still very high. I hope he makes the right decision!

Not very.

His seat could get warm with another terrible season, but firing/not firing an assistant won’t have that affect.

Pelini has a $7 mil buyout. I doubt he's going to be allowed to fire Pelini.

Bo isn't going anywhere. He will be the DC next season so everyone can accept it and quit crying on here about it

If his buyout is too large, does he move Pelini to another position or into administration? I can't see him leaving Pelini in charge of the defense because it's clear the players and fanbase have lost all faith in him. IMO, keeping Pelini would be committing career suicide!

Realistically we’re finished between 2-8 and 4-6

A losing season will put O on a warm seat. He has to produce big time next year and the following year while also maintaining these top 5 classes regardless of the coaches.

Here’s the thing - if he fires or keeps bo it doesn’t matter if we get smoked by shitty teams just like it doesn’t matter if we start smoking shitty teams

Right now this is the worst LSU team in a generation. Honestly hiring or a firing a coach won’t matter if everything doesn’t improve dramatically and immediately.

He should do some soul searching and decide on who’s the best man to not get him fired

If he doesn't fire Pelini and hire a competent DC then 2021 will be Ed's last season as head coach at LSU. I personally feel that O will make no DC change and the defense will continue to be an embarrassment next season under Bo's guidance and it will be the end of O's time at LSU!

his contract is $7mil they would have to pay remainder if he is fired but that can be negotiated like Les' was

we’re pulling in a top 5 class this year and next year is off to a good start as well.

That’s my prediction as well. If this garbage carries over into next season we definitely need a fresh start

Coach O has to be careful going forward.

Even with a Championship, he doesn't want to use up his goodwill and hurt his reputation.

Pelini's contract can be negotiated down if needed.

You’d have to think Pelini would want a way out and would agree to some sort of structure on his buyout that allows for it to happen. He hears the heat from the fans just like anyone else and I think he knows he made a mistake jumping back into the SEC from Youngstown St. He’s a big family guy and would probably love to go back home to Ohio or close to it. My point is I think both sides probably want out at this point equally and I think it will happen after the season. What I don’t think will happen will be LSU allowing O to hire “his guy” without a serious vetting process and he won’t make $2 million plus per year. I can see a lesser known name or younger coach getting the job at a salary between $1-$1.5 million per.

I am not saying the defense will or won't be good but you are making the assumption BP will not turn it around next season. With all of his experience and the talent why not. I am not convinced there are no other problems on this team mainly leadership and Social Justice BS.

Well social justice isn’t going to get any better with the liberals taking over so O better get a handle on that shite. Players can protest and blackfist all they want on their own time but they better show up ready to work and earn their scholarships when it’s tine to play ball. Those that would rather be Malcolm X can have at it but don’t poison the team.

Think it’s 4.6 after the season.

If O has another season like this next. He is gone. Fact. BookMark this post and revisit if he doesn’t turn it around
