If NFL scouts were as good at evaluating talent as me, I'd be $30,000 more in the bank

Got in at 75:1 odds on Jayden going #1 overall. Put down $400. I knew he was the best in the draft because he set an all time FBS record in Passer Rating. Meaning of the prior 10,000+ QBs to ever suit up at QB in FBS (with like min 100 passing attempts), he ranked #1 in Rating. He did that in the SEC too against 4 top 10 teams.

Add to that he ranked #1 in FBS last year in yards per carry too at 8.6 YPC (min like 70 carries). He also I believe set an FBS record for YPA at 11.7 (min 100 passing attempts).

So statistically best QB ever in FBS and best runner in FBS 2023, against SEC teams and 4 top 10 teams too. How do you draft Caleb over that?

Just have to say that I always suspected NFL coaches, scouters were no better than any diehard football fan who had a 115+ IQ. This confirmed that. I really believe find any fan who has a 115+ IQ and has watched football religiously since they were 5, and they could do just as well as any coach/scout in FBS or NFL.

You lost $400 on a dumb bet because the NFL doesn't draft on your statistical analysis.

Thats the post.

How much did you bet on him to win the Heisman?

You lost $400, and honestly believe this next paragraph, and you are calling out the intelligence of other people?

Jake Fromm had a passer rating 25 points higher than the best Peyton Manning ever had.

which one you drafting above the other?

Oddsmakers, scouts, GMs, and draft "experts" all told you that Caleb Williams was going #1 overall and none of them really waivers even a little.

You bet and lost $400 going against what everyone told you would inevitably happen.

So who's smart guy in this scenario?

ouch. That really is too bad. Caleb going #1 was such a sure thing that JD5 going into draft day was still something like 10:1 many places.

It’s too bad because that should’ve been a huge win for JD5 bettors with it being obvious who the better qb was. Maybe I’m biased from being an lsu fan and reading tRant but I don’t know what the hell made Williams such a sure fire #1 pick over JD5 that the pick was pretty much set in stone from the beginning of last season.

It’s no more obvious to me now that JD5 is the better qb than it was at the end of last football season. It was as clear as day then as it is now.

he proved that already last season

these 3 games just cement what many of us already knew.

Yes. Through 3 games he looks significantly better. Williams has same bad tendencies he developed at usc... being able to sit behind loaded oline, against pac 12 trash defenses. He can't play that video game in the NFL , and is why he's struggling. Jayden improved on all his bad tendencies and looks smooth.

Long term, career wise, who knows. But he's the better player right now.

If you weren't an idiot and knew the bears were taking Caleb Williams, you'd also have 400 dollars more in the bank.

You’re gonna have to do better than one homer pick that may turn out to be right and 3 games is too early to write anyone off or send someone else to Canton. It’s also not an either or prop both could be good

Not only do I believe it. Its painfully obvious.

1) Jayden Daniels is more athletic than Caleb.
2) Jayden Daniels has garnered the respect of his teams more than Caleb.
3) Jayden Daniels is adapting his game to NFL standards better than Caleb.
4) Jayden Daniels is better than Caleb in read progressions, extending plays, and making plays that aren't there.

I can go on. Jayden Daniels is a leader of men. Caleb isn't which will make him a colussal failure.

2 games into the 1998 season there people saying Ryan Leaf was the truth and Peyton Manning sucked. We have also seen QBs win rookie of the year that flames out. It’s way too early to say either way on either players. It is also not a zero sum game both could turn out to be great or not, time will tell not biased rantards
