re: If NFL scouts were as good at evaluating talent as me, I'd be $30,000 more in the bank

Bro Jayden could have played for Ole Miss and I'd be saying this. The demeanor, the approach, the public speaking, his actions on and off the field.
We got a first hand look at Caleb on Hard knocks. Men in that locker room will not back a guy like that.
Call me a ranter it won't hurt my feelings. I'm so confident in this I'm willing to put a ban bet on it.
To be truly honest, I don't believe Caleb Williams loves football.

So you say but he didn’t so as an LSU fan you are not objective.

By men you mean your completely unbiased self. And you are still treating it as a zero sum out come.
I have no idea if Caleb Williams loves football or not or if he will be a great NFL QB or a bust and neither do you. Bryce Young played against the same SEC competition how is that working for him? How many people on this board and the MSB said in that draft CJ Stround would suck because other Ohio St QBs were bad. Want to dig up the threads from the Saints board before the 2017 draft melting at rumors of the Saints taking Mahomes because of course Big 12 especially TTU QBs never pan out? Yours is the worst type of broken clock syndrome.
Or how about threads from 13 months ago ripping Daniels because he’s 1 read and run and we should play Nuss
Daniels looked great last night his team is playing well. Just be happy for that and let it play out

None of the things you listed matter to the question at hand. The question is do you believe Jayden is a better qb than Caleb Williams.
I definitively do. Not because I'm an LSU fan but because I love football. Jayden Daniels is a better qb than Caleb Williams. He is also getting better coaching which makes my statement that much easier to type.

Force, this was you about 1 yr ago to the date In regards to JD5
This isn’t to embarrass you. But to caution you from making declarations after 3 games

actually kinda subscribe to the theory that bo nix was the beneficiary of the biggest and most coordinated media push for a heisman candidacy since they bought Charles Woodson the trophy over Peyton manning. Like if you told me that someone would come along and have a better season than cam newton by a material margin in both rushing and passing, and told me it was neck and neck with another player for the heisman, id be expecting something in a whole other league than nix. Like looking back there was just so much gaslighting going on to spin nix’s season from what was by definition a standard “very good season” for a qb on an upper tier team (and that’s being kind and ignoring the insane percentage of his passes that were essentially handoffs), into some generational campaign. Idk, guess it was just a bunch of pandering to the pac12’s “last season.”
anyway not really on topic, just hadn’t thought about that in a while and in retrospect it’s pretty damn crazy in hindsight haha

Prove it. That was 2 years ago.
In the FSU game our QB did have limitations.
Its cool to pull a snippet from a thread and try to act like CNN Earl.
Jayden Daniels is better at football than Caleb Williams.
We can revist at the end of this year.

Quit projecting bro….
If I had the time you do, I could pull all kinds of shite up you’ve said…I just care.
Things can change, you are right about that. This isn’t just a vibe though, you can see it, bears fans can too.

So you should throw in resume to the 49ers: They used the 3rd pick on combine star Trey Lance and then cut him, The next QB they drafted they threw a flyer at Mr Irrelevant and he took them to the Super Bowl at a discount rate of a paltry 380,000$.
Send resume to:
San Francisco 49er Management
221 Sht in The Street Blvd
Worst City, USA

JD5 can have 10+ rushing TDs easy.
I'll also say it's way too early to write off Caleb. He has a lot of WR talent to work with.

You lost $400 on a dumb bet because the NFL doesn't draft on your statistical analysis.
No. He was right, and the Bears were wrong. How could anyone not see that Jayden Daniels was a future HOFer? He was as can’t miss as Shaquille O’Neil was in basketball.
Daniels has it all. He has arm talent, height, he’s smart, he makes good, fast decisions, and he has character and is a great teammate.
Caleb Williams has most of these qualities, but is a prima donna. Also, I don’t think he is as cool in the pocket as Daniels, nor is he as elite on the hoof. It was a bad mistake for the Bears.

do people really think Jayden Daniels has proven to be better than Caleb Williams after just 3 games
No, of course not, but let me ask you this:
You have to bet everything you own on which will turn out better. Who are you betting it on after three games? And you don’t even have to answer, because we all know.
Drafting is not about knowing who is going to turn out best; it’s about gambling on potential and the odds of reaching that potential.
Caleb Williams went first because the conventional wisdom, arrived at before the 2023 season even started, was that he was a surefire franchise player. That conventional wisdom hardened, and those without flexible minds became fixated on it. Anyone with an open mind could see Daniels was the better choice.
It reminds me a little of when Joe Burrow was wrapping up his Heisman year. There were still some commentators wedded to the idea that he wasn’t good enough to make it at Ohio State, so there must be something wrong with him. I read more than one “expert” who said he just didn’t have the NFL physique. This was a QB that was 6’ 4” and 220 pounds!

Penny, this wasn’t a question framed as if someone had a gun to your head.
These are freely asserted takes
The last couple Super Bowl winning QBs either didn’t play at all as rookies, or were terrible.
Smart people can still live Jayden but also sample size & context can be acknowledged as important

I suspect this guy took an online IQ test and has been telling everyone he knows about his 115+ iq. Not getting the reaction he's looking for, he crafted a thread here so he could weave the newfound brilliance in (twice).
Congratulations, sir, but I'm like 150-160 on those things, so clearly they are not accurate.

quote:
So statistically best QB ever in FBS
You manipulated the stats to fit that narrative. Jaden was elite last year and had an excellent season but he was not statistically the best QB ever.
quote:
Just have to say that I always suspected NFL coaches, scouters were no better than any diehard football fan who had a 115+ IQ
This just isn't true. Your basing this off his first 3 games in the NFL. There is way too much time/games left to even make the case that Jaden is better than Caleb. I also like Jaden more than Caleb but a 3 game sample size is not enough to make this statement. Caleb was better in college until Jaden's 5th season as a starter.
quote:
This confirmed that. I really believe find any fan who has a 115+ IQ and has watched football religiously since they were 5, and they could do just as well as any coach/scout in FBS or NFL.
This is the problem with America. The average fan actually believe that someone who just watches football every week can do as good or a better job than the Coaches. I coached High School Football and have a much higher understanding of scouting and scheme than you do but I do NOT claim to have the same comprehension of a College Coach. Because that is just asinine. That would be like me telling you I watch a lot of Lawyer shows and read a lot of law books so anyone who has above an IQ of 120 can be a better lawyer than the local District Attorney. SMH
Watching games on TV do not tell the entire story. shite even the ALL 22 film doesn't give you the entire story either but it gives a lot more insight to roles and responsibilities for each play.
