Does LSU become ranked next week? Or will that take a little more time?

If we start off 3-0 then definitely.
A big maybe if we win Week 1 and 2.

Agreed. We’ve see some ridiculous overreactions in the past to vault teams very high after a small sample size.
Also, my skeptical side see that LSU (and FSU) being good and highly ranked is good for college football and $$ so it wouldn’t surprise me to see us (or FSU) get a big lift if it’s a convincing win for either team.

Gosh, we’ve gone from a power house to getting speculative on getting on top 25.

Let’s take it one game at a time.

I think the winner of this game will be in the top 25 or very close. Especially if they look good doing it. When comparing to other teams in the top 25, this will be a big name win on a National stage. My guess is this will be the best and most exciting game of the entire weekend. This will be the game where everyone will be talking next week about did you see THAT play or THAT ending.

If we blow out FSU, maybe. Cincy(23) plays Arky(19). There is a reasonably good chance one of those falls from the the top 25. More than reasonable if it's an ugly performance by the loser.
But that probably means that Tennessee, Texas, Iowa, or Penn St. moves up before we do if they simply do not struggle against inferior opponents this week.

I agree mdomingue. Moving ahead of these teams would be admitting that they were wrong. The meat of the schedule will decide our ranking.

yes...point blank the winner of this game will be ranked next week. Either side.

The biggest movements in the rankings over the last few seasons happen weeks 1 and 2. If LSU wins in dominant fashion then they will be ranked next week. A close game leaves some question marks. Week 2, LSU plays Southern so that won't help LSU at all.

Good point. Especially since we are playing Sunday night and what could be a huge win. It’s like the closing act and people will have it on their mind going into week 2.
With that being said…I’ll take 15 1 point victories in a row

It’s too early to worry about this. Being unranked means nothing with what LSU has in front of them. They are one of the only teams that “could” go from unranked to CFP. Just gotta win and the rank will take care of itself.

Take down an undefeated team with the #1 offense and #1 defense, it’s gotta happen.

Depends on the win. If we blow the doors off of them, we probably get ranked but if we win by 14 or less, it’ll take a few weeks.
