voter polls are utterly irrelevant in today's game. They're a relic from the past.

The only thing that matters is getting to Atlanta for the SEC championship game, and the Playoff Selection Committee's final ranking. That's it.

Ignore all the silly voter polls. They're a dinosaur.

yes...point blank the winner of this game will be ranked next week. Either side.

Florida state does not deserve to be ranked anytime soon.

They could beat LSU by double digits, but that doesn’t mean they are better than Tennessee, Texas, Iowa, Auburn, Florida, etc

If enough higher teams lose, of course. I think we’re like 28th or 29th now. The #1 factor in ranking (or re-ranking) teams has always been number of losses. 1-0 teams are gonna get the benefit of the doubt over 0-1 teams unless the 0-1 teams’ loss was to a much higher ranked team. But logically, polls should be very fluid early in the season, and surprisingly, pollsters have tended to be more willing to be fluid the last several years than they had been previously. So we’ll definitely be ranked if we win and enough teams ahead of us lose, regardless of how we look. But if we look great, we’ll probably jump a enough teams to be ranked even if they win. But really, who cares. It’ll all work itself out.

Moving ahead of these teams would be admitting that they were wrong.

Until there is a reason to admit it, why would they? 1 team that was mediocre to bad last year beating another that was mediocre to bad probably wouldn't move the needle much.

The meat of the schedule will decide our ranking.

This is the thing. Just win and LSU will be ranked by the Tennessee game.

Continue to win and top 10 by the Bama game. Beat Bama and LSU controls their own destiny.

Not saying all that happens but that is the ideal path.
