You quoted a talent evaluation site that has us 9th which seems correct to me.

I didn't quote anything. And I don't think our defensive talent is even in the top 50 right now much less the top 10. Offensively I think we have top 5 talent.

Ok, so you're listening to the trolls on the SEC Rant

Prior to LSU, he was at Cincy and Notre Dame. The stated reason he left Notre Dame for LSU, was to get talent to match the upper crust teams that they'd lose to.

Do you remember Orgeron's record at Ole Miss?
Or Saban's at Michigan State?
Miles at Oklahoma State?

The rationale for Kelly over guys like Lincoln Riley and a bunch of other hot up-and-comers was that he was experienced in not just building, but maintaining a program. At LSU, Saban built it, Miles maintained it, Orgeron ultimately wrecked it. We didn't need a flashy scheme guy, we needed someone to restore the overall program to a level of respectability, and then build back up from there.

Quit worrying what Serraneaux and CajunBama troll you about. We're fine.

I'm surpised it's that many for sure. I wasn't thinking about freshman from that year like Roy. Not sure I'd count Baskerville. He was undrafted and never recorded an NFL stat. But still more than I remembered for sure.

Yes relatively soft schedule for LSU since he’s been here. Saban faced 11 in his first two seasons (7-4), Miles (8-4), O (7-4)

Well he’s still with the Bears so you should count him.

Most not all but most were expecting us to lose a couple games but still make the playoffs.
So is this considered a wasted season of potential and not living up to the hype.
Or are we getting the most out of our talent on the current roster.
There is a legit possibility of LSU going 10-2 and not making it just because others have cupcake schedules.

I fully expect Texas, UGA, and Tennessee to make it

Bama could get in as well as Ole Miss. If we lose to either and they also finish 10-2, they are in over us. I doubt the playoff committee wants 5 SEC teams in year one.

Mizzou's schedule is so easy that they could also finish 10-2

In the Big 10, Oregon could legit go anywhere from 9-3 to 12-0 if they have found their spark. Ohio St is likely undefeated, or at worst, 11-1. Penn St has the schedule and team to legit go 11-1 or 12-0. USC has the schedule to go 9-3 at worst, 12-0 at best (let's see them vs Michigan).

Then you have Miami in the ACC and two of Utah/Okie St/K St from the Big 12

Then the group of 5 guy.

Brother in Arms. One of the few sensible LSU fans left. I can not understand how nobody else sees the big picture. How nobody else sees what he is building here. He will go down as the greatest coach in LSU history. Mark my words.

Even in medocre seasons you have your Bluegrass miracles or shoe games or 10-7 Ole Miss.

It is hard to tell what kind of season we will have this year but I will remember that South Carolina game.

Ok, then let's do the non-ranked teams. Kelly thus far is 19-1.

Also, let's project this out; you say 3-7 vs ranked teams. Losses at neutral sites to Fla State twice, USC, UGA in Atlanta. That's 4, so he's 3-3 in the other games.

Far as I can see, we have 2 ranked teams left on the schedule, both at home. If he goes 1-1 against them, and continues to handle business vs the unranked teams, that projects to ... 10-2. That A&M game can be scary, would be 9-3 if we lose to them (at A&M is the lone unranked loss he has so far).
9-3 is far from the end of the world, my friend. Maybe you should sit back and enjoy the season, and be thankful we're not going 6-6 again.

He's on a practice squad and never logged an NFL stat but sure I'll count him. Great memory you had even saying 13 instead of 12. Impressive.

Thanks, wasn’t completely sure about Farrell and Anthony but thought I remembered them being drafted.

The record is 3-7, spinning and doing mental gymnastics doesn’t change that.

Thats funny. We finished top 20 last year, "with the worst defense ever" and we fired every single defensive coach. If that happens again this year, what should we do?

If we miss out because we have 3 loses then I wont have a problem with it since our defense was so bad last year and will take at least one year to recover.

Well, if we saw an improvement, then I guess we should keep them. Still guessing they will not be where they would like to be based on the needs that are known by all...

Last year, there were no signs of improvement...I believe.

ok

His regular season record for each full season at LSU is 9-3, 6-2 in conference play. 2-0 in bowls. As you just pointed out, no mental gymnastics changes that. He's 1-0 in conference this year, team is ranked.

It’s BK year 3 and we have a very good, upperclassman QB.

Yes. It’s a wasted year if we don’t make the playoffs.

Wow, that’s not a talent eval, that’s your intentional misleading as usual. 9th is where we actually stand so the no talent excuse isn’t valid like I said.
