the best scenario would be Mcmahon starting to win lots of games and we don't have to hire anymore coaches for a while.

we can use that $ on fixing alec box and the PMAC instead

I think Jay is pretty happy being out of coaching and on TV.

Possible realistic scenario:

Chris Beard completes his one year rehab stint at Ole Miss with (some degree of success). Woodward then presents a big check and a note asking Beard if he really wants to spend the rest of his career at the worst basketball program in SEC history?

The McMen will be here shortly to tell you you’re stupid for demanding more from the basketball team. Completely okay being dead last in the SEC

McMahon can improve and get a couple more years.

It’ll be hard not to top 2 SEC wins. But he can try!

Show me a single post where people are content with a last place basketball team.

Who in the hell downvoted this? And why? Explain yourself.
MM is bottom tier compared to Beard who is top tier and a home run

We’d need to spend money to attract Beard. We’ve never hired a high profile coach in our history.

I’m not sure there is any real positive metrics that say MM is likely to turn it around.

Beard is not going to leave a top 4 SEC program for a bottom 4 program. Woodward could have been bold and dumped McMahon after last season, but now we've missed our shot. Look at Woodward's history of hiring basketball coaches. There's just not much to be optimistic about.

I really do hope he turns it around, we've talked about this a bunch.

My brain tells me it doesn't look good, but my LSU basketball heart tells me let's play it out. I hope and pray in both hands lol, not much we can do now otherwise.

I poke fun on TD with Coach Mc, but I really do want him to succeed. That would be the best for all sides. All I want is a winning and consistent MBB program. It's a hard ask knowing our history.

The contract he gave McMahon is stupefying. Made it impossible to cut bait after 1 season no matter who was available.

I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong and mcbasement not be a loser. I don’t even care if we win boring and ugly just win. Sadly, I just can’t find much hope that MM will turn this around. His offense is boring and isn’t exciting to play in for recruits. He is a low energy guy. That works when you have good x and o and win but having no energy plus a bottom level offense is just bad news in a much better sec than usual.

Yea, when you look at his success he’s had top tier talent relative to his competition. When he doesn’t have the best talent he has huge drop offs in success. At LSU he hasn’t been able to recruit to the level he seems to need and he’s never proven he can elevate his team or out coach more talented rosters.
