No one said the D was a question. I said that there were question marks about the team pre-season. You remember our starting QB Jefferson getting suspended indefinitely before the season bc of a certain bar fight?

If that’s not a question mark, I don’t know what is

Every national championship run, we were always loaded and never had a known “concern” pre season.

You didn’t read this board in 2019 then. There were daily threads about how the defense wasn’t good enough to win it all.

And pre-season the Oline was 100% a question mark. Hell Joe was a question mark by a large portion of our fanbase before the season started.

Many, on this site, have never heard of the purple people eaters.

Probably not, but they have to have seen Jim Marshall return the fumble the wrong way. One of the iconic plays in NFL history.

The defense, special teams, running game (part of the team) were not a question mark. This had been building since 09.

The only question mark was JJ. Let’s be honest, not an impact guy. Frankly, many were relieved he was suspended. JJ does not equal Nuss, Mett, Daniels, Burrow, Flynn, Davey, Russell. We all knew our season wasn’t going to live or die without JJ.

Seems like we were loads more confident in the 2011 team than this team….

So are you saying our DLine is that good, or that our OLine sucks that bad?

We are fricked.

Burrell is not an SEC kicker (doesn’t have the old Ramos accuracy). Big leg is not a complement.

Sorry to upset you and your son, but special teams (& especially kicker) will neither make, or break, our season

I don’t know why you keep talking about how strong the defense and other individual units were.

I said there were questions about the team pre-season.

Our 2 year starting QB was indefinitely suspended.

Our backup QB had only started one game since 2008.

There were questions. We’ve had years with elite defense and special teams with a very questionable offense that didn’t end with National Championship.

Rantards didn’t thought the FSU game in Orlando would be close either. They were right. Just play the game.

have you never watched scrimmages in pre-season before? where the D looked way better than the O? HAve you watched clemson? Do you see what they have returning? are you trying to take dallastiger55 spot this season in ridiculous pre-season prognostications? If you think this game will be easy with CBK bad opener record and how good clemson is you are insane.

Ramos has increased his ball speed to 71, from 67 and if you think that doesn’t add variability then you don’t know sports

Ramos might not even start. 1st few practices, reports Ruffino said Burrell was hitting dead center from 57+ and would've been good from 62+ whereas Ramos missed some short ones. Burrell has been the better kicker with an absolute boot so far.

I watched Burrells HS tape. HS kicks from the 40 right, well must've been a personal foul on xtra point 2 different times as he kicked from the 25 twice. He put both kicks from the 25 into the back of the endzone.

NFL kickers kick from the 30. Burrell in High School was kicking from the 25 twice, and putting it into the back of endzone. Tape can be found on 247.

Yea, he charted an 80 yard kickoff at Kohl’s in Gatlinburg as a high school Jr. They put him as the #1 kicker in the country (‘24) after that…he never showed up to another camp so he slid a bit in the final rankings, but still top 5.

I was at that camp with my son.

Problem was his accuracy and repeatable form. He missed 6 out of 30 on FGs at the same camp and didn’t last long in the competition. Hopefully he’s been working someone to be less wide, which is typical for a soccer player.

Heard Burrell is taking snaps at punter too. Accuracy issues seem to be there for that skill as well, but punting is difficult.

Ya know what? I love this post and the confidence. What happened to the days when teams other teams looked at their out of conference opponent and saw LSU and and said, oh shite, anyone but these guys. Somewhere along the lines, maybe cause we lost our last 4 openers we lost that swag. I know it’s not everyone on here but to many LSU fans on here have become have become cowards and really wish this game was removed from the schedule. It’s sad because we used to have that “ any time, any place mentality, especially for botch made teams like Clemson who wanna be us.I personally love these games and feel like if we can’t come in and at the very least compete on the same level as Clemson. , then we don’t deserve to be in the playoffs anyway. That being said, LSU by 17, Clemson ain’t nothing be over hyped pretenders

All that could possibly mean is that the O-line is terrible, which we already knew.

You might be right. It may not be close at all. We could get our *ss beaten by 3 touchdowns or more. That’s more likely than an LSU blowout win.
