I do not think Ed Orgeron should get an extension if we lose to UCF

Back to back 9-4 seasons is not where our standards should be. A 9-4 season this year would be even worse because we have a worse conference record and would finish with back-to-back losses. Les Miles was already doing this.

Our roster is better than UCF's. If we lose, it is because the coaching is not good enough.

The fact Ensminger is likely staying already sucks as it is. He hasn't done a good job this year. One good game against UGA isn't consistent enough.

This is a fact. Even with players out, LSU's talent level is far beyond what UCF has. If we lose this game, it will be 100% because of the X's & O's.

How about we just wait to see how it plays out before we start talking hypotheticals?

He probably still will and we’ll just have to deal with it.

I don't think he should get one if we win, unless it serves to lower the buyout.

He shouldn't get an extension regardless.

Inb4 "he has to be under contract for 10 years in order to recruit!!!"

It's not the extension that is the problem. The problem will be if that extension comes with a large bump in pay (if that will be money needed to hire an OC in the future) and a large buy-out.

They can extend him until 2050 for all I care, as long as they leave a pretty easy avenue to get rid of him, if it ever becomes needed.

There is zero reason at all to lump in a large buy out for a coach that nobody else wants. I have zero faith that Alleva will handle this properly though.

I don't know why people on this board can't understand that an extension is coming, and is needed. However, the structure of that extension is what is very important.

If LSU loses, there's no excuse for an extension, that's for damned sure.

5-3 in the SEC West does not deserve an extension. This is not moving the program forward, these are the results that got Miles canned. Why have we hired a new coach and lowered the standard?

I'll say it again, would be massively hypocritical

Has an extension been earned even with a win? I’m asking seriously.

The masses say the bowl game is meaningless. So win or lose, what does it matter?

Pure sarcasm BTW.

This is why I'll always say that bowl games matter.

Here is the deal. He has a contract with miltiple years left. He hasn’t proven he has made a step-change with the program from the previous coach. Give him another year to do that. If there is marked improvement against the same level or better competition, then discuss the extension. If not, force his hand to make changes.

This isn’t a rush to do a damn thing as of yet.

Which is why they will give him it before the game and are kicking themself for not doing it before the A&M game
