He actually wasn’t. Majority of the starting o line was still in the game when he first came in and so were most of the WR’s outside of Boutte and maybe Bech.

He seems very impulsive at times.

He also was playing against southern defensive probably the worst defense we face this year

He's not an SEC QB and will be gone next year.

Not the first time I've read this on here. What are you basing this on?

Nuss has undeniable arm talent. His decision making was undoubtedly poor last night but he flashed his clear upside. The kid is young and has room for improvement. The tards on this site have to love or hate a QB with no in between.

I am happy Nuss is the backup right now because he is not ready for the starting role but to say someone with his physical gifts is "not SEC caliber" or cannot improve his decision making sounds pretty asinine. Half the fanbase now appears to want to run him off as if he is garbage. Equally as stupid as the people prematurely judging Daniels.

He looked really bad up to and including the pic six. After that, he settled in. He was trying to do too much and he found out the hard way.

He had a handful of incompletions that weren't his fault or were probably just a function of not having chemistry with his receivers (miscommunications or drops). He is legitimately accurate as a thrower but our fans are too dumb to understand that nuance. Also a lot of people on here are mad and have an axe to grind that Daniels received criticism for looking pretty lackluster in first half of FSU game given we had I think 47 yards passing and 3 points at halftime.

That all said, Nuss was clearly desperate to stay in the QB battle with Daniels and choked bigly. The two picks were godawful and he has only himself to blame if he doesn't see any meaningful snaps the rest of the year.

I will say some of our smoothbrains on here are downright giddy and triumphant that he looked rough. Pretty brutal to be as hard on him as people are being and I imagine Kelly probably defends him a little bit this week.

Daniels is a savvy runner and knows how to get out of bounds but you never know what could happen, especially with our OL. Nuss may be called upon at some point this season in playing time that matters so trying to bury the kid to dunk on other fans, even if you think they are racist klansmen, probably isn't helpful.

Eta: Also ridiculous to say he isn't SEC caliber. He clearly has the arm talent

All in all, I think we have a pretty good QB room

You're being very optimistic. We have 3 below average QBs with above average potential. It makes for a bad offense right now but could improve greatly as the season goes on

Yes, you're a genius and everyone else is an idiot. His completion % is what it is. He is young, but he has legit accuracy issues.

Haha. This legit made me laugh.

I'm just being optimistic about a young player who I still see potential in. This thread was not meant to be a continuation of the idea that he would have done better than Daniels last week and I was a pretty adamant defender of Daniels' performance against FSU.

I'm just not ready to totally give up on a young player, who clearly has physical talent, like so many of you appear to have done.

He had a great throw on the bomb.

Nabors had like 10 yards on the Dbs and he just threw it up. He didn't miss it but it was an easy throw.

I said it all preseason, Nuss was bad last year. Period. He had not improved. If you cant beat out Johnson or Daniels, you just dont have it yet.

Daniels was brought here for a reason.

Aside from a few terrible decisions

If he does this shite in an SEC game, it's game over. Those two things are playground-esque and has no place as a QB for the tigers.

I'm still pulling for the kid, though.

I don’t understand the excuses being made for Nuss. He was terrible by every objective measure last night.

Where did I make any excuses for him? I'm just saying I still think there's potential there.

If our starting QB played like Nuss did last night, I'd be calling for a change as well. Wouldn't you?

He's clearly not ready to be a starter, but he's not as terrible as many are making him out to be.
