The 2’s &3’s didn’t throw the pick 6…. That was just down right dumb.

Meant to DV. You ruined the joke by explaining...
"other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how did you like the Play?"

I think it’s a little premature to predict that he improves to the point of an early round draft pick this year.

Now imagine if Daniels made those “few terrible decisions”

I was very pro Nuss and there were a lot of moments in week 1 where I wanted to see him out there, but his performance Saturday shows he clearly isn’t ready and may never be. That was some real true freshman stuff and he should be a lot further ahead than that

Pretty clear Daniels is our guy for the next 2 years and rightly so.

What I can't figure out is why Kelly said it was a close battle or why he said both QBs would probably play against FSU.

Nussmeier simply isn't an option. It's NOT close.

Daniels has real problems. But, he's CLEARLY the only QB we have that gives us a chance.

You’re making an excuse by saying he didn’t play that badly.

I just meant I saw enough positives to not totally give up on him, as many on the rant are doing today.

I'm in no way advocating for him to get meaningful playing time this year. I just don't think he's a total lost cause, either.

Nuss is totally unredeemable? He did nothing positive last night?

I agree. This is a total head scratcher.

It's possibly Kelly isn't totally truthful to the media. Didn't he say Nabers was still going to be the punt returner?

He looked awful, but it is OK, he has time.

He did make some pretty throws but there is a lot of growing to do.

Great arm but needs to work on his pre-reads and decision making

Simple. It's very discouraging to Nuss if you publicly admit a QB transferred in and easily took the job from him.

I think this is something a lot of fans are having trouble wrapping their heads around. The Joe Burrow hangover is still here, and folks want to see an explosive offense over the top.

It seems like some people want that type of explosive offense so badly that they are a little blinded by it. They see Nuss taking some deep shots while Daniels runs and leaves a few guys open, and they want what Nuss brings to the table. And I tend to agree that Nuss gives you a closer match to that style of play than Daniels.

But Nuss is not Burrow right now. Odds are he never will be, considering Burrow was the best to ever do it. As good as our receiving corps is, it’s not currently anywhere near the Jefferson/Chase/Marshall combo.

Meanwhile, we have a guy in Daniels who can consistently get you 7-10 yards when things aren’t open. (Against FSU he averaged 7.62 yards per scramble, which includes sack yardage but excludes designed runs). He might miss a few opportunities down the field but that’s well worth it when you can continue to move the ball forward, stay ahead of the down/distance, and perhaps most importantly, don’t throw interceptions.

It might not be as flashy but all it takes are 1-2 over-aggressive throws against SEC competition to completely put a game out of reach.

I still think Nuss can be a really good QB but he’s not there yet.

Yes, you're a genius and everyone else is an idiot. His completion % is what it is. He is young, but he has legit accuracy issues.

Not a genius, just not dumb enough to look at raw completion percentage without context

His completion percentage isn't because of drops. Now that is context

Plus this was against Southern. Jeez

I gave Nuss some slack after the Arkansas loss last year, because he played well except for that last game-ending interception.

Last night was a total different kennel of fish. Nuss has regressed; it seems that ending of the Arky game caused him to lose his nerve. Nuss played a horrible game v Southern.

Yeah he had multiple drops last night from Thomas and someone else and a couple of miscommunicated routes with Goodwin and Taylor

Communication is the QB responsibility. The INTs were not from passes that hit his receivers.

We don't know that to be the case and even if it is, those throws are not a reflection of his accuracy as a passer.

Absolutely not. Those were awful decisions.
