What I can't figure out is why Kelly said it was a close battle or why he said both QBs would probably play against FSU.
Let's hope that was just a really bad day for Nuss.

Noticed even last year when Nuss had a chance to come in on a few series, that first series was always 3 and out. Had high hope for him but it was bad last year and even worsened yesterday.

Any of you fans remember Rohan's first game?

In fact, Burrow didn't look like Burrow today either.
It happens.
We will probably see Nuss again this season, I believe he will make us proud.

Horrible decision by Nuss, but his 4th string TE got tangled up in crowd trying to run an inside cross like we had run 2-3 times successfully earlier in the game with our starters. Once the TE got thru, Nuss was being tackled and attempted to get the ball to him. Bad decision, no doubt, but put Nuss with the 1st teamers and he will look a lot better. His arm is very strong, and good receivers getting open will help his production a lot. Don't give up on him just yet. He'll learn and we will love that big arm.

Simple. It's very discouraging to Nuss if you publicly admit a QB transferred in and easily took the job from him.

So what? At this point, do you think there's any hiding that fact from Nuss? Do you think that the staff views Nuss as the future of this team? No fricking way.
