Isn't going anywhere for a while.
My idea would be to move Bernie Moore out by the river, then knock down old bernie moore, build the new PMAC there and turn the existing PMAC footprint into a green space connecting all your athletic venues in that area. would be awesome for gameday event
I have always had the same thought. I would even venture to say move ALL of the football practice, etc. to that central location - have some type of tiger walk for the football team as then march down the hill.

I got to swim workouts there several times when I was at LSU and it was always such a unique experience.
I swam in the HPL pool many times during the late 70's early 80's. It was one of the first 50M pools and used often to host long course meets.
Also remember hanging out at the hockey rink and racquetball courts in the mid 80's during my LSU days

Did some nerd actually throw an image of a chick playing the cello in the rendering?

Included in the masterplan released in 2017. Believe they'll just renovate the PMAC. LINK

That would be the best possible scenario, albeit not the most likely. When you consider the development across Nicholson from that area, having a couple of places to eat within walking distance of the PMAC, it would be a very nice setup.

It was a shithole in 2005 and I’d imagine long before that.

What's its new name?

I’ve thought of similar things and it all works easily if money weren’t the issue.
Move Bernie Moore and indoor facilities to past the Box. Better facilities would attract SEC/NCAA championships.
Build a brand new PMAC on the corner of Nicholson and N Stadium. The venue would help in multiple ways. It would attract more revenue generating events and if done properly, could hold concerts. This would also help give additional space for basketball indoor facility to be completely finished.
On the site of the PMAC, you now could build an all inclusive dorm/nutrition center for student athletes. The current one is too far for some of the athletes. This could also lead to more green space.
It’s time to gut the weight room in Tiger Stadium. With most teams having their own facilities, it’s going to become obsolete. The football team could build a brand new locker room. I know they just got in renovated, but it’s still crammed quarters.
Tiger Stadium also has a lot of dead space that could be used in better ways to help bring in additional cash flow.

NOT renovating that space into an update pool is an absolute WASTE.
that facility is so very unique & should be used as intended (while still safe for today's liabilities/insurance).
HP Long was originally the student Union and the rec center. It had a post office, ballroom, pool, racket ball courts, etc.
Since then LSU built a new student Union and a new rec center. Way bigger, west nicer and modern.
Why in the world would they want to return HP Long to it’s original status?

is that one of those images from the chick who would go around BR exploring abandoned places?

It went downhill after Katrina, as I recall...

Some of those old racketball courts had some crazy graffiti in them in the early-mid 2000s. There was like this crazy Kabbalah chart or map on one of the southern walls of a court.
And a bunch of old rubbers, too.

Oh i just got rocked TF up. Now just tear down that abomination of a building known as Middleton Library.

Had a blast jumping the wall and swimming in the pool back in the early 70’s. Racquet ball courts were cool as well.
