Miles should be fired if he doesn't beat Bama OR win the SEC West, regardless of record.
What if Harris goes down causing loss to Bama and 11-1, 2nd SECW with B6 bowl win, maybe even playoff appearance?

I'm cool with 10-2 if it wins us the West.
10-2 and we stay home would be disappointing.

Follow up question what if this team goes 15-0 and wins the NC. Do people finally give Les the credit he deserves and admit they were wrong?
He would get credit for this year and a job well done. That would not excuse the cluster fuks of years gone by.

Depends on to whom we lost and the nature of said losses, but yes, it would likely be a disappointment.
Next year things are falling just perfectly regarding what we have coming back and what others do.
Even the pumpers are (sometimes grudgingly) admitting that Miles has no excuses next year.
For me? A NC is doable and would totally erase the losing streak to the gumps, Miles's stubbornness, etc.
But I'd call it a successful year and be happy if we win the SEC and/or make the four team playoff.

The odds are very long that LSU could absorb to intra-division losses and win the West. Has that ever even happened outside of maybe when Alabama was on probation in 2001?
That's why the odds are very long that I'll be ok with a 10-2 season.
Wow just looked it up. No team from the east or west has ever advanced to the SECCG with 2 intra-division losses.
2001 LSU and 2010 USC each made the SECCG with 3 total SEC losses, but only 1 intra-division loss.

It all depends on how we go about getting to 10-2. If we beat Bama and get to the SECCG, then I am totally okay with it. If we lose to Bama again and whoever the second lost comes by and we don't get to the SECCG, not so much. Would be another so so season and I truly believe Miles would be in trouble.
Nothing less of getting to the SECCG with the talent we have on this team would be a major disappointment.

I said that 4 years ago. He coulda went 3-8 after that and I would not have cared. But that perfect season went down the shitter to say the least, and in a bad way as you saw.

It's the coaches' responsibility to have back-ups ready to step up. Coaches know that a season-ending injury can happen at any time to any player. Recruit depth, prepare them, and have them ready to go.
Now losing a starting QB is a big deal, obviously, but Cam and Les need to prepare the back up. Harris could go down at any time.

Nope. We have almost everyone returning on offense, including #7, our biggest losses on defense were Jalen Mills and Lamar Louis, and it's hard to imagine there won't be an upgrade on defense with Aranda. We have a great team returning. There is no excuse for LSU not to make the SECCG this year.
We will not make the SECCG with 2 West losses.

Would feel like a 10 day old balloon, deflated. But just enough air in it to keep it floating above ground, keeping positigers looking forward to next year (again).
That about sums it up for me. If we stay relatively healthy, for me this would be the bare minimum. We have 18 starters returning and one of only 3 QB's in the conference who have any significant practical experience, we have the best running back in the country and maybe in the last decade, we play Bama and Ole Piss at home...
my 15 pieces of flair bare minimum is 10-2 given all that.

Usually 10-2 is pretty much standard, but with this team we have returning this season, the thought of 10-2 is definitely disappointing.

Agreed. We wouldn't have won shite in 2007 without a solid backup QB.

Anyone disappointed by a 10 win season should be euthanized for ireversable brain damage.

10-2 is achievable if LSU has an average QB
Posted on 4/27/16 at 12:28 pm to CalTiger53
I've said I feel that if Miles doesn't win the West he may be gone, but I've also predicted 10-2 for the season.
I won't ever be upset with a 10 win season unless the losses are very, very ugly.
