I agree. I hate when coaches are mean and yell at the poor kids. Most of them aren't old enough to drink yet and we expect too much out of them. I just want a friendly guy who likes to wear hats and doesn't quite understand how to clap or master the English language. If he can win a few games that's just lagniappe.

Neither. I am, however bored with stupidity and now that I am retired I have time to refute it when I find it particularly galling. This thread being a perfect example.

Anything less than 11-1 with this talent is unforgivable.

Yeah yeah we all know that madden clowns like you think teams should win every game every year. Look, clown(s), go find a fantasy football game site and jerk each other off all you want to, but don't expect people that deal in the reality of real life football to treat lunacy like 10 wins being a disappointment with anything but scorn. Now go hump someone else's leg.

I'm 52 years old and have never played one single second of Madden.

You do realize that I'm not saying 10 wins is ALWAYS a disappointment. Some years, 10 wins is fantastic

But not 2016.

I don't claim to know it all. However, I do know stupidity when I see it. Maybe you just don't know what real life football is like. See, sometimes injuries or players sitting with academics or other issues has an effect on games. When you win 10 games out of 12 or 13, in real life that is damn good no matter what computer football clowns say.
Sorry to break it to you but winning every game requires not only a ton of luck but no bad injuries or loss of playing time as well. When you have those 3 elements you MIGHT win all of your games. You can also lose games that ON PAPER you should not lose. Happens every year to lots of teams. So, pull your head out of your madden game and try reality for awhile. Provided of course your doctor has given you a prescription for a pair of testicles.

Usual TGFN57 post...

Get off my lawn, old man rant: check

Madden reference: check

Out of touch, grouchy, whining, petulant, antagonistic, and just being a plain douche: check

Yep, authentic post by one of the most miserable posters on this site.

I would be a little upset with a 2 loss season because of the guys we will lose to the draft next year. Although a 10 win season would be obviously an improvement from the past few years. A 10 win season like 2010 would propel us into 2017 with the momentum to get better like 2010. IMO.

It's simplistic to expect coaches to prepare for the very real possibility of QB injury???

As important as the QB is, I'd think it's a high priority for offensive coaches to have the backup QB ready to step in. Nothing simplistic about that.

Yea just whine away at people that call out immature dumbassery. Well my fun here is done. Time to go to Venice for some fishing before final weekend of Jazzfest.

I'd be pretty disappointed honestly. With the guys returning in 2016 that won't be here in 2017, there is a lot of pressure to win the SEC.

Listen, we finished 8-3 last year (would have been 9-3 without the cancelation), to only win one more regular season game with the team we have coming back, would be completely unacceptable.

Seriously, how do you feel to have;

- The most returning starters ever in Miles tenure here
- A protégé of Jimbo Fisher working with our starting QB on his weakest skills
- A heisman contender RB and a backup RB that would be a heisman contender had he not had a heisman contender in front of him
- A junior QB in his second season starting/3rd year playing (1st time since 2013), plus a decent backup for the first time since 2011
- 5 key contributers on the OL (3 of them being returning starters)
- Loaded WR group with talent and experience
- Both starting FBs
- Except the one who only played 2 games, every other scholarship TE
- One of the top 5 defensive minds in college football at DC that won't send more than 4-5 on a blitz (he could send anybody in the back 7-8 on a blitz) to maintain coverage AND bring back the man coverage scheme
- The entire two deep on the DL (all but one on the 3 deep)
- All but one player in the entire secondary returns
- Your starting MLB who will be one of 4 guys that will be AT LEAST 6'2 240lbs with speed in the rotating LB corps
- Get Ole Miss and Alabama at home (with Ole Miss in October aka, before Alabama)

And still only win one more regular season game???

That would show me that Miles does not have what it takes anymore to win in this conference. Nice man and all, but if he can't win the SEC with this group, when will he?

10-2 would be a disappointment. Mainly because it would signal that 2 losses is the best that LSU can ever hope for again. It's basically LSU saying that no matter how much talent we have, we will lose at least 2 every year.

There is NO team in the world who is ok with sub-championship teams when they are constantly loaded with the best talent in the nation.

I might be ok with 1 loss depending on the situation and as long as we still made the SEC championship and the final four. We MUST make it to the SEC championship game.

I felt the same way but next year won't be awful. Should have a pretty good squad. 2 years from now I wouldnt be surprised if were 8-5. QB recruting has went to shite.

Yeah me too. Even with losing what we'll lose, we should still have four returning starters on OL, experience at WR (not starters, but very experienced and talented), Guice and Williams at RB, junior FB who started half the year as a freshman, and a senior QB (whether it be Harris or Etling). On defense the LB corps should be pretty damn loaded with talent, athleticism, and experience even with losing the seniors, the secondary will lose four but we are always loaded there, and the DL will lose everybody, but we should do decent enough if guys like Gilmore and Herron come back as seniors along with the top guys we bring in the 2016 class.

Honestly, LSU should be in the playoffs this year and a New Years 6 bowl game in 2017.

LSU won the national championship with a 10-2, (L's in OT to UK and McFadden) so sure.

Must include a win over Bama, and the SEC west even ifs a tie in record, with LSU going because of head to head vs Bama. And the two L's are to the SEC east teams. Missouri in a driving rain storm with a NCAA record 19 fumbles in the first half, 9 of which are brought back for Missouri TDs. Game end in first OT, 80-77 as hail obscures the camera and fans back home have to take Danielson's word for it that there are no flags on the winning FG from the 18.

Coaches can do all this, but it's not a guaranteed smooth transition.
You said yourself losing QB is a big deal and I say even more so during Bama game.
Up to individual deciding that is a shite 11-1 reg season, fire the staff, blah, blah, blah.

this is our year"

If you took an honest assessment of the past teams and thought those years LSU should have won it all, you dont know Jack shite about football.

Most sane people had pointed to this year because of all the players returning. LSU had been raped by the NFL and there was no one left to take because our team was young.
